I figured this one would give us all a laugh. What is the best and worst Christmas (or Hannukah or other holiday) gift you've ever received?
Mine isn't a gift, it's a Christmas card. We got a picture card this year from a distant relative and everyone in the pictures on the card has been dead for over 3 years. Wicked creepy. I could understand if someone just passed this year, but to send out a Christmas card full of dead relatives? Freaked me out.
I don't really have any for this, but it made me think of the Jimmy kimmel skit and the avacado boy. I love that video! Also, this sounds like fun I just don't normally so gifts and if I do it's things I needed.
This gift wasn't for/from me but my SIL husband's 85 year old grandma received a hand saw from her daughter a couple years ago... We all kind looked at each other thinking "Is this for real?"
I can't think of anything in particular for me, but this year I'm giving the death glare to an obnoxiously loud cheap plastic remote control dog that DD got. I'll be working on making it disappear after she goes to bed.
Maybe not the "worst" gift but my mil likes to get everyone underwear for their stockings and every year she asks me what size I wear and I tell her, and every year she gets be one or two sizes too small... She insists I can't be "that big" as if she knows my sizing better than I do... Lol it's funny but quite frustrating since I either have to deal with smaller underwear or go through the trouble of exchanging it.

What is it with MILs and underwear?! Thank god mine doesn't try to buy me any, but every year she buys some for H. He's 33 years old.. he doesn't need mommy to buy him undies! I don't even buy that kind of stuff for him.

At least she isn't buying big and saying "you're not that small" !
We just adopted 2 kids this yeAR and they each brought home Christmas presents they made in their classes. One is a picture of my son's face in an ornament frame. Another is a drawing my daughter made of my husband as a shepherd -- super hilarious. It is just too precious. It has made all of our years of preparation so completely worth it.
My husband got me a Spirograph this year. I'm like thanks I loved this as a kid? I guess I'll wait until our daughter is old enough and let her use it!
After announcing the pregnancy, SO proposed with his (divorced) mother's ring. His family kept going on and on about how it was bad luck and the diamond was too small, but I was happy. This morning at Christmas breakfast his grandma pulls out a ring box with her old wedding set and says it seemed appropriate since SO plans to wear his granddaddy's wedding band. BEST Christmas gift ever
Worst was a razor the Christmas I turned 13 and my mom telling me it was time to do something about those manly hairy legs
Best this year was probably the fitbit that DH got me.
Worse- my grandma is the greatest person. I talk to her on the phone all the time, but she has a habit of buying really useless things for the kids. She always buys these giant stuffed bears that my kids just don't care about. They take up so much space that we don't have and the kids just don't like them. This year she also got my 4 year old a toy that is meant for babies... my 1 1/2 year old got the same toy from his Nana. Hello returns line.
My ex-husband was the worst gift giver. One year he kept telling me how much I was going to love this particular gift so I was pretty excited about opening it. Christmas morning, I open it and it's a giant box of twizzlers. Really. I like twizzlers but that's not really an appropriate gift for an adult.
This year I got the best gift ever! My SO got down on one knee and proposed with a beautiful century old antique diamond and sapphire ring. Best of all was that he asked my mom and son for permission.

Re: GTKY - Best/worst holiday gifts

Edit : because mobile sucks
Best: gift cards and cash because I can go to the store and pick out stuff I want that innever buy myself
