I haven't had any luck with this but I've heard sometimes baby measures a little behind and then a few weeks later is right back on track. I'm sure baby is fine, especially with the strong hb and you'll see more on the 30th.

Agree with the PP.  If the doctor says he is good with everything, I would go with that.  Hugs!!

So sorry you are going through that. It could be like PP said, that baby just needs to play catch up. I agree that the strong hb is a good sign. Is it possible at all that you actually ovulated earlier than you thought?

Whether you are 5 or 7 weeks pregnant, you have a baby with a strong heartbeat! That is awesome! Good luck to you!!!

FWIW, my DD was measuring smaller than I expected at our first u/s also. She caught up just fine, in fact she was measuring bigger later on throughout the pregnancy. They kept insisting she was due about a week earlier than I thought. Sure enough she was born six days past her EDD.

Baby probably took its time implanting. I wouldn't worry some times baby measure small it is still very early to be worried about that. You have a strong heartbeat so that's good.

Also, their measurement is just off by about a week... I know that SO much happens in a week but maybe you conceived when you thought but it took longer to reach the uterine lining & burrow? That is all the miracle of it all! I'd say the hb & dr reassuring you should be what you ride on til your next appt & congratulations!!!

Go by the heartbeat! Also ultrasounds are not a perfect science... DD was measuring 6 pounds and she was only 5 lbs when I gave birth... So they could be off!!! Positive thoughts!!!

A strong heartbeat is a great sign! I agree that either their measurements were off, you implanted late, or baby will catch up shortly. I had a dip at 10 DPO and a BFN on 12 DPO, so between a possible late implantation and ovulation a day early, I expect the EDD to change a little at our appointment on the 30th. We'll see!

Keeping my fingers crossed that all is well with you.

I hope you get great news at your next appointment. It is possible baby implanted late. Try to distract yourself as much as possible until your next appointment (easier said than done, I know) and I hope your DH is coming with you! If it's good news he will be happy to see and hear it in person, but if it's bad news you'll be glad you are together. Hugs!

This happened to me too. I had cramping so went to the er and got an ultrasound. I was measuring 6 days behind with a heart beat which meant I got my bfp at 5 dpo. I knew that was unlikely so I convinced myself it was over. I went for a follow up in the maternal fetal medicine department and bean was measuring right where it was supposed to be. The er technician wasn't specialised and when they are that little a couple of millimetres off can be a week different.

If it helps at all, my first pregnancy, the first ultrasound measured two weeks early which meant I would have gotten a SUPER early bfp.  My doc chalked it up to wacky ovulation and now I have a healthy and happy baby girl! 

Having a strong heartbeat is a great sign.  T&P that everything turns out fine.

When I went for my first u/s baby measured at 5w1d and that was 1.5 weeks off what I thought it was also! (Would've been almost 7). I went back and we found a very strong heart beat but baby also measured smaller, but only by a few days. I hope all is well, and wish all the best for you and your baby.
