Menopur cycle

I don't post over here too often, but I thought I might get some advice. Hopefully I'm in the right spot.
We are supposed to start injections tomorrow. Ugh.
My RE wants to do a Menopur only cycle this time. I'm 34 & have PCOS. Has anyone done this treatment cycle before? I started reading about it this weekend and I'm a little confused by it. My first IVF we did Menopur and Bravelle. We retrieved 40 eggs, 10 fertilized, and 4 made it to 5 day blasts. Have positive or negative stories about a Menopur only cycle?

I have done 3 menopur only cycles. I am not sure why your RE is changing your protocol as you retrieved SO MANY EGGS!! Holy cow!! But maybe it has to do with the low fertilization rate? I really have no idea but I just wanted to offer my support.

I did 3 menopur only IUIs and am going to start a menopur only IVF round mid January! I did fine with the IUIs, so hopefully IVF will go good as well. They are starting me on a much higher dose since we are doing IVF (3 vials to start). When are you going to do your cycle? I am 29 with hypothalamic amenorrhea....husband has great numbers. Of course I am the issue lol I am an avid runner so they think the lack of ovulation is due to that. Maybe we can be cycle buddies! I am so anxious to start....just need to wait until my new insurance kicks in in january then I am ready to go!

Bravelle is off the market for the time being (and you should contact your pharmacy to see how you can find out about the recall and rebate program). So that's the reason for the change in protocol. They messed up the expiration dates on some package, not enough to really lose effectiveness, but enough to recall.

Bravelle and Menopur work much the same way, though, so menopur-only will be very similar to using both.

Thanks for the information ladies. When our RE told us about the new protocol I didn't ask any questions. Now that we are getting ready to start I started researching and found a lot of conflicting information.

We start injections tomorrow night. We will do our cycle and then freeze any embryos and do a FET at a later time. I hope we get more embryos this round.
