  • Yes! I just did mine yesterday. We're crossing our fingers that we'll get the results back before we go on vacation at the beginning on Jan!

I went back 4 pages. The search function on the phone app sucks. It's a new bmb. Repeats happen.

OP - No need to get defensive; although it's a new bmb for you, some of us have been around for a couple months now so it's annoying to see multiple threads about the same thing. @BostonBaby1 was trying to give you some advice.
I've been around for more than a few months. Like I said, I went back and looked.

I did the prenatal testing covered by my provincial health insurance and it screens only for Trisomy 18, 21, and 13 (not sure what the other tests screen for). We just did the NT ultrasound yesterday and got the results of the blood test at the same time; all of our odds were exceedingly low, so we were happy! And it was amazing to see the little baby kicking and waving its arms :)

The tests offered in Alberta through the public health care system don't tell you the gender (they want to minimize the number of people doing the tests just to find out the gender, and to reduce the possibility of sex selection). So sadly, we have to wait until the 20 week ultrasound unless we want to pay a private company...

Repeats always happen. I was trying to be helpful to give you an idea of where you could find more information. I'll remember not to do that next time.

*eta- i'm on the app for the iPhone and my search function works perfectly. You also have the opportunity to open up your browser if that works better for you.

I thought she worded everything in a nice and helpful way...anyway.

Just had my blood work all done for my harmony test and because the Dr is the nicest old man in the world and I told him I wouldn't have a u/s until 20 weeks, they squeezed me in really quickly today so I actually got to see my baby. When you go make sure if they don't mention self pay that you ask about it through the people that handle the harmony test, we're going to be paying for it out of pocket and only because it's cheaper to do that then my insurance co-pay. I don't know if it's the same for everyone but I wanted to pass on that info.

  • Mine is covered because of my age but I have heard of so many people having issues with insurance after the fact. So, that's a good tip @thebigoaktree

That's how he explained it to me as well. I know my co-pay is 500.00 and he said doing it through the actual company I'd pay 130.00.

words are also really hard today.
