TTC after 35

I got my Christmas miracle!! (BFP mentioned)

Oh my god, you guys!!  I can hardly believe it.  It's just been so darn long since I've seen those two lines show up that I didn't want to post until I got my beta today!  I caved though and took a HPT on Saturday (7dp5dt) and got a second line about 2.5 minutes into the 5 minute time frame mid-day and then got a positive on a digital test later in the day, so I was feeling relatively confident.  My beta today was 129!!  I have a follow-up on Wednesday.

I'm just so happy and excited.  This board has literally been a lifeline for me at times over the past 20-some months.  I hope that I've been able to give the same amount of support that I've gotten here.  I'm going to lurk around and keep my fingers crossed we are on a roll for the holiday BFPs.

Symptoms: Well, the reason I honestly tested on Saturday is because my 2 year old has been a little cling-on and I thought either she had become a demon or she was sensing rising HCG.  Also, I suddenly don't like the taste of water.  It tastes metallic to me.  WTH?  I'm also ravenously hungry and constantly cramping.

Thank you thank you thank you everyone!!

Omg, @emsmama15, I knew it was going to be positive!  I'm so happy for you!  And I'm just elated that there have been so many successes here lately!  I haven't joined the Pregnant After 35 board because it wasn't that active, but maybe we could pick things up a bit. @Jilligan14 and I are on PGAL, but you haven't had any losses (which I'm glad for). I'd love to stay in touch with the people from this board as they move on.  ...ahh, I'm so happy.

  • @emsmama15 it's been 3 straight months of multiple Drs. visits and tests. He's on several meds now, but we are actively in the process of getting him diagnosed with lupus (he's been diagnosed so far with Hashimoto's and several other conditions that fall under Multiple Autoimmune Syndrome; like Raynauds, photosensitivity, low t, vitamin deficiencies, arthritis, migraines...you get the idea!)
We are closer than ever to getting the right treatment plan, however we have yet to see an RE. There hasn't been time, and he's been in an active flare up, so he's sick all the time.
I hope we can make an appt for January, but I've really had to put out TTC on hold.

We have been kind of trying I guess...
I got a peak reading today after two open circles, so...who knows. I can only do one day at a time right now.

I should have posted this as an update and re-introduction!

I'm so happy you got your BFP!

  • Oh my goodness @thistle8677, I can't believe how quickly this has escalated.  I'm so glad he has you as his advocate during this time.  EVERYONE should have someone who has their back when going through something like this.  Don't let up until you get the diagnosis and treatment plan he needs!!  I'm sure it's overwhelming for you both!

Thank you so much for the well wishes.  I will keep him in my prayers.  I hope you can move forward with your plans to add to your family soon.  Hugs!!
