People ask too many questions...

We are talking to our real estate agent and I said something along the lines of, "everything is changing now.. We have a new house, a new car..." And he said, "no new babies??" I had to say no because we aren't telling yet, but I had to smirk a little:) Anyone else having people ask if you are pregnant?

Re: People ask too many questions...

  • Yes! One day at work some staff members heated up pizza pockets in the lunch room, which my office is close to. I had to turn on the fan since the smell was making me nauseous. Of course, one of them says "Oh maybe you're pregnant". Ugh, of course said nope, no way. I have been trying to be careful with anything I say.

  • Yep!  Just yesterday a friend asked if we thought we would have another and I had to be a bit coy.  I just said, "Yes, I hope so."

  • I was drinking water at my family Christmas party and my aunt asked if I was pregnant. Dh was drinking water too, but apparently only my water drinking was suspicious...

We haven't told anyone yet, but I KNOW my MIL knows. We had a Christmas party the same day I found out, and I'm sure she noticed I wasn't drinking (though no one said anything to me). When we saw her the next day, she had left booze out of the rum sauce for the dessert she made, AND offered me decaf coffee (normally she would have offered me wine). Then yesterday, she made some comment about how I should nap when my son takes his (I rarely do that).

DH and I keep saying to each other, "SHE KNOWS." We are announcing at Christmas so it will be fun to find out if our suspicions are correct. :)

  • Tisunge, what a nice MIL you have!  Mine asks every single time we speak "Jelli pregnant yet?"  So invasive.
I suck at lying - my face gives everything away - so anyone who asks directly and to my face is probably going to get a direct answer.  One of the women I work with knows my period is late - she asked directly and I told her I was three days late but she hasnt come out and asked yet.  She did give me a funny look when I said I was tired but I work retail so everyone is exhausted this time of year!
  • @jellibeanz She's the best. She's very good at knowing her boundaries and staying out of our business. But she loves her grandbabies so much, I know she'll be thrilled when she finds out for sure! :)
You must be exhausted working retail right now! Ugh!

  • LOL I've now been to 2 family events I've had to fake drink at. It'd be a dead giveaway to see me drinking water when everyone else ha wine. So far successful! This week I have another family dinner at a restaurant... So I plan to show up early and tell our server hat my "tequila soda w a lime" really means "soda w a lime" so nobody gets suspicious. I have a fun plan to reveal the secret on Christmas Eve!!
