I always bake for my family for Christmas because it's much cheaper and more fun than buying Christmas presents (and I have to taste test of course). What is everyone's favorite Christmas dessert?
We do so many Christmas cookies...this year I have four to make or have already made: -Chocolate chunk cheesecake cookies with Christmas M&Ms -Peanut blossoms -Italian ricotta cookies -Snickerdoodles I also make Christmas shortbread bites, candied pecans, salted caramel pretzel bark, and this year since we'll be home instead of traveling I'm making a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dessert. For Christmas Day I'll be making a birthday cake for Jesus (and I got a mix since DH didn't want to stress about a million ingredients) that is Blue Velvet (DD is currently obsessed with blue), and Christmas Eve I may make a chocolate mint roll (think the pumpkin roll you see, but it's chocolate cake filled with Andes peppermint cream).
Also, not a dessert, but we always always always have homemade Chex Mix (typically our "travel snack", but will be for home this year). I bought all the ingredients yesterday and I can't wait to make it, I LOVE Chex Mix.
@imrachellea I've never heard of the chocolate mint roll but that sounds so delicious!
I would post the recipe, but I do not have it on hand...maybe later once I get home and can check my recipe binder? I've only made it once before, its a little time intensive, but it is definitely worth it! And the cream filling ends up green, so it looks very festive! Especially if you top it with the chocolate glaze and sprinkle crushed peppermints on top, red and green!
Candy cane cookies (similar to sugar cookies but they have almond extract instead of vanilla and are colored and twisted to look like candy canes, then covered in crushed peppermint candies- so good).
Peanut butter balls
Caramel puff corn
I can get recipes off the computer during nap if anyone wants them.
Mmmm, dessert! I usually do a lot of Christmas baking. This year I'm planning
-frosted sugar cookies -molasses cookies -peanut butter/Hershey kiss cookies -peanut brittle -cinnamon sugared pecans -buckeye fudge (new Pinterest recipe. I love Buckeyes but hate making the balls. We'll see)
Toffee, peanut brittle, peppermint bark... yum! I made a chocolate meringue pie over the weekend that my great grandmother used to be famous for, and that might have to make a come back next year.... so decadent, so delicious!
We just have our special cookies that we bake each year... but I took it easy this year for a couple reasons. DH and I are on a baby moon Dec 18-22nd, and also, I have already gained almost 30 lbs!!! So I"m taking it easy on the baking this year!

I made candy cane cookies and kolache (i think that's the correct spelling. They are a polish cookie and soo yummy). I would like to caution everyone to be careful though!! I made those on friday and still wasnt done baking but had to stop because i started bleeding and i have been in the hospital ever since. I guess bending over to put cookies in the oven and get them out over and over all day was a bad idea. So be careful!!!
I made peppermint bark popcorn for our neighbor's this year. We always do sugar cookies. We can no longer do no bake cookies or pb blossoms because DS is allergic to all nuts (devastating diagnosis for this nut lover).
@kielpinskim ugh that stinks! We also make those no-bake cookies AND peanut butter kiss cookies! And I eat peanut butter and mixed nuts like they're going out of style.... you're a good mom!
