We got it narrowed down to just three boy names!! Things to know: big sisters are Mary Jane & Lucy, middle name will be Richard, and our last name is long and Irish.

Re: Down to Three!

  • I know Oliver is popular, but I LOVE that name. All three are great though, you can't go wrong! :)
  • I voted Thomas but they are all great and sound good with your daughters names!

  • I voted Oliver, but really like them all!

  • Thomas! I love both Henry and Oliver, but they are really overdone. Thomas is so handsome, and has some read nn options.
  • Thomas Richard flows the best. I love Oliver, but not sure about the double r sound
  • I love the name Oliver.

  • Maybe you should just take this short list to the birthing place. :)
  • All 3 would be on my list if my girl were a boy! Voted for Thomas buy they're all great.

I don't understand how that works. I know people who have done that, and they later say something like, "They just seemed like more of a (insert name here) after we saw him." Don't newborns all look pretty similar?
  • I hate to be this person...

...but I would avoid Henry Richard, just based on the potential for future nicknames. If you get what I'm saying... :#

Haha! Don't worry about it. I think I'm missing something though. I know the un-fun nickname for Richard, but what is it for Henry?
  • Harry is a NN for Henry.

I voted for Oliver because that's our son's name and is suprisenly not popular in our area. But Henry and Thomas were our short list and we would have used either if we were having a boy this time around.

The nn for Henry is Harry. Unfortunately. Henry Richard sounds nice, I would just be worried about teasing when he gets older.
  • I like them all but Oliver is my favorite

  • They are all nice names, you really can't go wrong. I voted Thomas because it seems the least popular and still very strong. I think Henry is nice but I also thought about the nickname combo with Richard and decided against that.

    Good luck!

I agree. It's a good idea in theory but it really didn't work for me. I took two names to the hospital and I had to make my husband decide because I couldn't.

I agree. I knew someone who cried (literally) "HE isn't an Al.ex EITHER!!" when she had her second DS. Ummm okay then. We like to have a name chosen so we can call the baby by name ASAP (in utero) and I don't like something so big going unresolved.
