Uterus position

Hello ladies!
Most of you are further in your pregnancy than me so maybe someone have an answer!
I'm gonna be 9 weeks tomorrow and since yesterday I've started feeling some stretching pain + sensitive area about 1inch above my pubic bone. Still no bump but very uncomfortable when touching/pressing. I know uterus is supposed to be a pelvic organ until the 12weeks but is it possible to start feeling the top of it earlier? Or should I be worried about a bladder infection even I don't have burning feeling ?

Re: Uterus position

  • I wouldn't worry about a bladder infection unless you're having actual symptoms of a UTI, but you could always go to a walk-in clinic to get your urine tested if you're really worried. I don't think it's possible to feel your uterus before 12 weeks but I don't know enough to say it's impossible. Is this your first pregnancy?

Even though your uterus is currently a pelvic organ it is still growing and is putting pressure on various other organs and blood vessels. Most likely it's just your body adjusting to things moving around.

  • @DobbysSock yes it's my first pregnancy, this is why I was really surprise by this because I don't expect to show/feel anything for several more weeks. I have no blump and still fit all
My pants so you are probably right with the organs being pushed

I had a lot of stretching pains/cramps around then, I'm currently 12.5 weeks and while most of my blump has gone away, I still am not showing at all. This is my first pregnancy so my OB said I probably won't start showing until closer to 16 weeks or so... possibly even later! It very much depends on how your uterus sits, whether it's tilted or not will make a difference.

  • Could be a bladder infection. I had tenderness there (which I ignored thinking it was just normal aches and pains), I had a routine dr apt and they called 3 days later to tell me I had a bladder infection and put me on antibiotics. I had no other symptoms. Granted that could have not been a symptom and we are all different so who knows. When is your next dr apt they should test at every appointment.
  • If it is a UTI try some cranberry juice as it can help I've heard. I don't have much advice other than that's I'm having a lot of RLP in that area could it be that for you maybe? In any matter I hope you feel better soon!

  • @Lindsayleigh1989 I really doubt it's an UTI and I just need to start to accept the fact that stretching is happening ;) I feel like second trimester growing pain will make me less nervous. I'm still in the "scare to miscarry when cramping" phase
