My husband and I would really like to use the name Alexandra as a mn to honor the memory of a close family member. It's for this reason we don't want it to be a first name, we feel like it could be too painful. We are having a hard time finding names that work with such a long middle name though. Any suggestions??? Our last name is Young.

Thanks for the suggestions! I like Charlotte, Claire, and Nora the most. Some other suggestions I like but are the names of relatives and/or friends' kids.

I think with Alexandra ending in -a, I would probably avoid first names ending in -a.  Anything else will probably work.

It depends upon the name.  If you really loved a name starting in A (but not ending it A) it's probably not a deal breaker, but it does get redundant.

For example, Abigail Alexandra isn't bad.  A name that starts and ends in A (like Anna Alexandra or Amelia Alexandra) would be a lot.  If you're not sold on a name yet, I would probably see if you can find a name you love that starts with another letter.

Thanks for the suggestions! I like Chloe but the Kardashians ruined it for me. I also really like the name Rose, but DH vetoed it sadly
