1st Trimester

Bleeding at 8 weeks but no cramps.

So I laid down to take a nap and about an hour later I was bleeding and it was bright red. I have no cramps or any odd pains. I have had miscarriage before but it was bad cramping and heavier bleeding. Should I be worried? I don't have an apointment til the 28th and I am 8 weeks today.

Re: Bleeding at 8 weeks but no cramps.

  • Light bleeding is okay. Normal even. If it's not heavy and you aren't in pain, you don't have anything to worry about. Just rest, try to relax, stay hydrated, and pay attention to your body. If something hurts or the bleeding gets darker or heavier, I would give your doc a call, but I'm sure you're okay :-)

  • I would call your doctor and let them know. They can decide if you should be seen earlier than your appointment. Bleeding can be normal, but as you know it can also not be. I'd be more comfortable letting the expert decide if I were in your shoes.

  • I can't call my dr until Monday morning. Thanks for yalls responses. It's slowing down and then coming and going.
  • You're doctor doesn't have an answering service or an after hours phone number? Most doctors have a phone line for emergencies that can occur after hours of operation.

  • Still no cramping. Just light bleeding now has that old blood look
  • Couple of things... have u had sex in the last 2 days? Have u done any major lifting or cleaning? Any burning or stinging when you urinate? Taken any meds?

Your ob should have an after hours number or even L&D at the hospital may can help. Good luck!
  • I called my doctor and they told me to go to the ER because he couldn't get me in and I found out I was having twins
  • @Knottie1433119556 aww I'm delighted for you! Is everything ok?
  • I'm going through something similar but not bright red just brown. I called the doctor and bleeding isn't considered normal, but it is common. All they told me to do is to monitor it. If you're bleeding through a pad an hour you need to be seen, or if there are clots, grey tissue you should be seen. I know my sister and mom had light "periods" the firsr three months. Sometimes your body thinks it still needs one. Keep us updated! ♡♡
  • Just scrolled up and saw your post about twins, guess I should read before responding ;). Congratulations! That's amazing!
