bad first ultrasound

I'm 6 weeks along and got an ultrasound done yesterday and though you can see a sac and that my uterus is enlarged, couldn't see anything else. I'm nervous.

This is my 6th pregnancy, I have two beautiful daughters, so you see why I'm nervous. The doctor didn't seem concerned, but I have to go back in two weeks. I keep hearing about how everyone sees something at six weeks, did anyone not see anything?

I'm sorry you are going through this. My Dr did my first US at 6+5, which they recommended because they said earlier you often don't see much and it is just stressful for the parents. I have my FX for you this will turn out to be fine!

I'm only just 6 weeks or maybe 6 weeks and 2 days.  I guess even a few days does make a huge difference.  I just remember with my oldest, you could see a little bean or something, but with my second daughter we couldn't see anything and everyone kept telling me I had lost her.  I figured she was my little miracle baby, but these doctors didn't seem as concerned. 

It's going to be a long two weeks.  Almost feels like my TWW all over again, this time instead of waiting to see if I'm pregnant, I'm waiting to see if I'll stay pregnant.

On my first ultrasound we saw nothing, went back a week later and we saw the sac! They told us likely our timing was a little off; HPTs are so sensitive now that you can find out extremely early, and may think you're further along than you are.

My OB won't do ultrasounds before 7 weeks, I think for this reason! It's still really early. FX all is well at your next U/S

@MommySarah85 I am right with you!! I was 6w2d on my first U/S and we (the doctor) saw a sac, but nothing else. I remember with DS we saw him and a heartbeat at the first. Sounds like you did IVF too (me too). This wish for my second is killing me. I had a different doc last time, so I feel like the u/s was later with DS. I sure hope so because I'm so nervous, had a BO last time.

Six weeks is very early. Plus, your dates could be off. I bet in one week you will see your LO with a heartbeat. Sending positive thoughts all is ok.

I had an ultrasound this morning and all they could see was the sac. I think that's pretty common this early. Fx when we go back we will both see heathy babies.

I just had an ultrasound done at 5w 5d just now and they could only see additional lining. I went in for cramping thinking I was miscarrying again, but I just have an ovarian cyst. Dr Said I am definitely pregnant, it's just too early to see that doesn't stop me from being a complete wreck though

I just had mine this morning at 6w3days and only saw the sac and yolk. she said she could see the start of the fetal pole but it was too soon in the pregnancy. I go back in 2 weeks, I am trying not to worry I didn't have a scan till 8 weeks with my daughter. Try not to worry to much I know easier said than done.

What type of ultrasound did you have?  That could also make a difference.

Went in for first u/s on Sat - according to LMP, I was 6w4d, but measured at 5w5d. Dr said they saw "the beginning of a pulse" but no heartbeat, whatever that means. Sent me for blood tests this morning, to check HCG levels. Going tomorrow for another ultrasound and more tests. I'm hoping I just ovulated late. This sounds like a common thing - anyone else measure about a week earlier and have a positive pregnancy? Can't help but feel anxious.
