  • Did the tech guess? Did you have less morning sickness this time?

It's to early to tell what the sex of your baby is.
MORE IMPORTANLY like pp mentioned these photos have your personal information on them. You don't know any of us so sharing that is not very safe for you or your family. I would suggest editing them or taking them down all together.

  • Wtf this is 3 of these today. It's too early, if the tech didn't make a guess how should we. Heart rate means nothing regarding sex. Seriously take 2 seconds to get to know the forum you're posting on, another one of these went down in flames all of 12 hours ago.

Also ditto PP, personal information, internet safety 101.

    deleted. Read UO. :)
  • Did your ultrasound tech say anything about the boy parts?

Seriously though OP, having all your personal information on those images is just asking for trouble.

  • It all looks like boy parts early on, assuming you're even looking at genitalsand not the cord or a leg.

  • We found out we are having a boy at an ultrasound (unscheduled) at 13 weeks 1 day! I had bleeding so we went right in to the doctor to see what was going on and our boy parts were very noticable!!! Don't know if our pic will help you... (And sort of feel guilty posting his man parts online) so no judgement! Lol

It's an under the butt crack view, legs spread, and little man testies in the center!

Sorry but if you feel guilty posting his genitals online then why did you?
  • Haha! He's not out of the womb yet, so it's not like embarrassing photos that will come out when he's a teenager and we meet his girlfriend! I weighed the guilt and thought it might help her make the determination. No big deal.

@babykasper. I had absolutely no idea what I was looking at. At least now I know what to look for! Your pic has made me very sure we were looking at a boy at our 13 week scan so was very helpful! Is the bottom section going across the screen the back or front of body? Congrats on your baby boy!
  • @Atlast111 look at it like the baby is sitting on the camera. You see thighs, genitals, and a butt.
  • @Bear14+ .Yes, I can definitely see that. It's pretty cool but wondered what part of the body the large section going across the screen was?
  • Duh....it's a thigh!!
  • @Atlast111 it's a leg. I think we're talking about the same thing ;)
  • It really helped me because we did the same cross section up on our scan and the testes looked very similar. None of us were sure if you could tell the gender at 13 weeks but apparently you can. So I know it def wasn't a cord or girl parts I was looking at as others suggested.
  • @Atlast111 at my son's 13 week scan, the tech said not to go buying boy clothes, but she was pretty sure based off the potty shot. It's definitely sometimes possible to tell. It was really really obvious with him.

With this baby, it wasn't so clear at all! Completely different look down there. I'll be curious to find out next week if it's a girl.

But 13 weeks is early, you can have a good guess, but I wouldn't go buying stuff just wait. You'll know for sure soon.

We didn't buy anything boy after our 13 week ultrasound just to be safe but the next one (15 weeks) showed boy, and the last one (16 weeks) showed boy too! So today we mailed out scratch off cards to our family that reveal boy!!! We are so excited!

Update: normal people don't have this many ultrasounds... We've had bleeding so they've been monitoring me closely. Baby is perfect though! So no worries! Bed rest for me!
  • Haha...don't worry, definitely won't be buying any boy clothes. I really like lots of unisex stuff so it can be reused!

She stated that in her original post. She posted to help people identify the sex of their baby, which in my case it did.

There are literally hundreds of pictures of gender ultrasounds at a close by gestation, many with arrows or markings pointing to the relevant bits, on google images so I guess I just don't see the need for it here.
  • Yeah but she was sharing her pic, which she wanted to do, not a generic pic off the internet. Lots of people share their own ultrasound pics on this site. This is no different in my mind.

Ditto again. Also, if I were you @Atlast111 I'd trust my US technician's guess over your own guess- as always you're only 50/50 either way.

Share their pics, yes, share a crotch shot, not so much.  I have no issue with ultrasound pictures, but personally, I'm not a fan of crotch shots.  I wouldn't upload a picture of my naked baby to the internet, in utero or out, but that's just me.  The posters of these types of thread are sharing their own picture too, that doesn't make me dislike the threads any less.  I just don't see the need to upload the crotch shot when, if people wanted to see baby crotch shots, google images is more than obliging.

A professional would do it better but in the UK on the national health service, a technician will not tell you until 20 weeks unless you have a private scan. I mentioned this in a previous post as they were concerned that people were aborting babies early on due to sex preference. Due to this they have a policy to wait until 20 weeks. It has been this way for at least 10-15 years. We are just guessing for fun as we happened to see what looked like testes. We are happy either way really.
  • @babykasper. Yes!! Just yes.....
  • I mean this with love so I hope no one takes it the wrong way (maybe it's all of our Pregnant hormones LOL) but some of you are very cranky... I was just trying to help. And may I point out that it DID help her with what she was looking at with her own pics. There are tons of blog forums and threads on here that I start to read and I might not agree with, so I simply move on. No big deal. I don't see the need to point out others possible mistakes, or things that were out of bounds or offensive. Just sharing over here! Like all the other soon to be moms. It should be a place to share and continue to be excited for one another. That's all! no need to go tit for tat. Just don't think everything needs a comment.
Didn't know that voicing your opinion made you "very cranky".  You said something, I responded.  You helped a poster (who wasn't the original poster) and that's great, I just don't see what you did as much different than what she could have done with a quick google image search.  Having a different opinion and voicing it doesn't make me cranky, it just means I have a different opinion and that's totally okay, that's actually what happens in most of life.  What does make me cranky is when people call people rude or cranky or inconsiderate just because they have a differing opinion.
