Im 5w1d & besides the slight nausea ive realized my worst symptom thus far is the dry heaving. Is that considered morning sickness? I literally dry heave as im getting ready for work, getting my son in the car for school, its gotten so bad I spend a majority of my day retching over the trashcan at work. To tpp it off I have Emetophobia (the fear of vomiting) so this sends me into a permanent state of panic. My boss gave me a warning that if he had to send me home early one more time due to the dry heaving he would have to let me go. I dont know what to do ive tried squeezing my thumb in my left palm like someone suggested with no help. Part of me wonders if it would be better for the baby if I didnt work my first trimester bc im worried about the constant state of panic I live in due to this dry heaving and gagging all day
Re: Dry heaving/gagging
And I worked until the day before I gave birth in a pretty labor intensive job on my feet all day.
Not to sound snarky but I just sucked it up.sipping water would make me vomit.sucking hard candies, peppermints, prego pops all puke worthy....
If you need to work you may just have to learn to deal with it and pray it goes away at 12 weeks like it does with some women or keep trying tips to calm it .iI have no useful tips because nothing worked for me this time or last time.i have learned to be able to stifle some of the heaving gagging. my hubby even knows if he sees me swallowing hard amd shiver it's because I'm trying not to gross other people out by heaving /gagging.
Is he sending you home or are you asking to leave ??
And if you don't "have "to work and is stressing you out that bad then maybe not working is best for you .but the heaving gagging is just the beginning of the many crappy ass side effects of pregnancy lol
Ginger chews have been helpful so far this time. I bite off a chunk and suck on it for a while.
