I agree but there are only a handful of guys who can pull it off. Most of the time I think they look very douchey. I'm also really jealous of this guy's hair. I mean this is so much better than most girls' hair that I've seen.
I dig the man if done well. Definitely helps if the guy is already attractive.
I also prefer beards. Every single boyfriend (including my husband) I've had was significantly more attractive to me with a beard than without. And it's been that way since high school.
Also anti-man bun. I'll take it one step further. With very, very, very few exceptions I never approve of long hair on men. And if you think what you like is my exception, you're probably wrong.
My UO: I hate peppermint. I see the videos of people making peppermint bark and I want to be excited, cause chocolate, but yuck.
Also on the anti man-bun train. I do not like long hair on men either. BUT I do love beards! Just not long scraggly ones. They need to be neat and trimmed. My H works in the oilfield and I hate it whenever he goes into a sour field and has to be clean shaven - I feel a little rapey because he looks about 10 years younger.
Ditto the anti man bun/hipster trend. I just do not think it's attractive. At all. DH was in the military which required him to get a haircut every 1-2 weeks. He still does now that he's out, and I like it clean cut. I do, however, love facial hair. He has a pretty gnarly beard that he keeps neat and tidy, and gets it trimmed on a regular basis. That is manly. And sexy as fack. Without any facial hair he looks like he's 12.
My UO: I dislike the term "Dear". I don't like when DH calls me that - it sounds old ladyish. And it reminds me of my aunt and uncle and their very awkward relationship. She's a whiny biatch and my uncle ALWAYS says "Yes Dear" in an not-so-enthused tone when she asks (demands) that he do something. Makes me cringe.
Ok, this seems like it is an unpopular opinion. It doesn't really bother me when people post the "guess my baby's gender" ultrasounds. I mean, if you genuinely think random people on the internet know better than your u/s tech, you're just a special snowflake. It kind of just makes me laugh, rather than making me angry.
And, honestly, I don't mind making an uneducated guess, on occasion, just based on my years of perusing the message boards and seeing ultrasounds. I do understand the argument that it "clogs the boards," which is one I've seen people argue pretty passionately (and angrily) on the trimester boards, but it seems like most of us are smart enough to know better, so the occasional ding-dong doesn't really clutter things too much. I suppose if we responded positively, the ding-dongs might come out of the wood works, though. I just don't get some of the serious anger I was sensing reading the second trimester board. I think there are plenty of things in the world to get worked up about, but someone not seeing the harm in looking dumb on the internet probably shouldn't be one of them...
I also think man buns are gross. I don't like long hair on a man. BUT I wouldn't kick that man out of bed ^^^......
My UO: Some of my English ladies may agree with this. Or maybe it was just something my weirdo family did before we moved to the US and I just THOUGHT it was our Britishness. But one of my favorite foods is pasta with graded cheddar cheese and ketchup. DH works late tonight and that's totally what DS and I are having for dinner.....
No no no. I cannot stand man buns. I think a lot of men use it as an excuse to have greasy hair.
@VikingGirl12 A friend on mine loves that mix! And her son is addicted to pasta and ketchup. We are Irish. Just to add to your "Britishness" I never understand the obsession with HP Brown Sauce!
My UO is that I plan to try and wear heels for as long as I possibly can during this pregnancy and I hate when people judge that as being reckless with my pregnancy. I did the same with my last and so many people made comments.

Seriously??? Preggos wearing heels is reckless? As if motherhood isn't judgmental enough...

So much judging. I got so many lectures and horror stories!

I never would have believed it until I heard the pregnant meterologist on Good Morning America has been getting crap for wearing heels through her whole pregnancy. It got to the point where she went to social media to tell everyone she only wears them when she's in camera and that it wasnt uncomfortable for her. The amount of comments she must have gotten to warrant such a response disturbs me.
I have never stopped wearing heals with any if my kids. I'm comfortable in them, so who cares?
My UO: I don't like getting gifts early, like before the holiday. Dh always gives me my Christmas or birthday gift early (when he remembers to get one, haha) and I just wish he would wait till the day of. Lots of people I know don't wait for the actual holiday, and that bugs me.
I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or if they're even big anywhere outside of California right now, but I really think those "hover boards" are the stupidest thing in the entire world at the moment. They're overpriced and I can walk faster than you can roll on that thing. WHYYY!?!

@on3in2015 I have absolutely NO interest in Star Wars and I am sick of seeing 1000 SW items in every store I go in to. It doesn't annoy me but would it just go away already!
I also have never read or seen any Harry Potter book or movie. No interest so never will.

They're big out here by DC too and I think NY has banned sales of them. Theyre not only overpriced but the learning curve is apparently quite steep and injuries are rather common as you learn (broken ankles, wrists, bruised tail bones etc). Plus some of the cheaper ones apparently have exploding batteries.
I dont get the name personally, they don't hover, they have wheels. How are they a hover board?
My UO goes to the people who "want to kno if DIS " is ok during pregnancy. We are all grown adults (most of us, but even the young ones use proper spelling), use your words and spell them properly. I'm also on the "quit asking about your kids junk" bandwagon. There's a reason you can't post for a few days after signing up. Take the time to lurk and attempt to understand what does and doesn't go over well here.
I'm also on the big no for man buns. And long hair. I do LOVE some nice facial hair though! DH has a nicely kept beard and I love it. I told him he's not allowed to shave it off because he looks like a baby.
@mrsschmity I'm cracking up at your UO because my DH calls me dear and I love it lol. Then again I'm basically a 90 year old trapped in a 23 year olds body ha. Ooh! I've never read Harry Potter either or seen the movies. My mom was one of those that thought it was evil so it was banned from my house growing up. I don't feel like I missed much.
With respect to the "guess the gender" posts, at first it was kinda fun to look through the comments whenever one of those discussions would pop up, but now I'm more like, "this again?" and just opt out, since they always follow the same "lifecycle" before admin closes them. I wonder how it would be if no one responded at all to those...the crickets chirping might send a more definite message that no one really wants to play that particular game. Then again, I doubt there would ever be zero responses.

Totally agree on the star wars but no Harry Potter?????? Those books were my mental get away from the real world growing up (being super nerdy from a young age made me quite a target for bullies) and I was roughly the age of the characters as each book came out (and then each movie as well) which probably helped my love of them. If this baby doesn't like Harry Potter I'm going to be very upset. I also may or may not be looking at harry potter themed onesies (snuggle this muggle, hogwarts class of 20__)...maybe that's my UO, I am an adult who still loves a children's book series.....

Totally agree. They make me think we are just one step closer to being the fat humans in Wall-E in their tv chairs...
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
@Sgoldberg247 - If liking Harry Potter is wrong, I don't wanna be right! I just re-read the series... cause I'm really cool like that. I also love Star Wars, but agree that there is WAY too much crap out there about this new one. Blame that on Disney...
My UO is apparently that I dislike facial hair! And long hair, but that seems to be the majority opinion here. I just like the clean-shaven, preppy look, I suppose. Luckily, DH's beard is not completely there, so he only ever has a go-tee if he decides to have facial hair and he always ends up shaving it soon after.
This probably isn't unpopular but here it goes. I've been lurking on the boards a few other pregnancy apps and one of them in particular has a bunch of ladies who are all asking how to get their doctor to do the "gender blood test" because they want to know the sex now. It really irritates me because the intent of the test isn't to determine sex, the intent is to screen for massive chromosomal anomalies, trisomies or monosomies. If it wasn't for the fact that the sex chromosomes can get all kinds of screwy too, they wouldn't even look at them in the test. There are women who need those tests for actual medical purposes and people trying to push their doctors into unnecessary (and expensive) tests for something as unimportant as finding out the sex a few weeks early really bugs me.
I don't think anyone over the age of 30 should be allowed to use the word butthurt. I hate that word.
Good thing I'm still under 30 then lol I use the term butthurt all the time. Mostly because it's something different than the usual "don't get your panties in a wad" or something similar. I can say "don't get all butthurt" and instead of someone being offended, they kind of look at me all confused because they usually don't know what it means. Win-win.

Eh...I certainly hear what you are saying, but if they want to pay for it and have the money I don't judge. Them getting the test does not take away from the people who actually need it. It's a business.
ETA: I would agree with you if there was a limited number of tests and people were trying to get some without high risk.
Also, I find it really odd when other people get passionate/butthurt about whether or not other people are circumcising or not circumcising their son's bits. Just do what you feel is best for your son and leave your opinion's to yourself; since chances are the appearance of my son's penis will have zero impact on your life. And according to my brother and my DH (one of them is circumcised, the other is intact) men don't get bullied for having or not having a foreskin.

The way they were wording it, it seemed like their doctors were advising against it since they were so low risk and they were trying to find out how to get it done anyways. Also while one or two people doesn't do much, if a bunch of low risk women are all getting it done, it backs up the line for those who have an actual need (ie another test showed high likelihood of an issue) and turns what would have been a few days of nervous waiting into a 1-2 week wait. I was thinking this reasoning wasn't well founded since I didn't see anyone here say they are doing for sex determination but seeing the thread with 50-60 women all asking how to get their doctors to do the test made me rethink it.

I think this is a great idea, but I think if absolutely no one responded to the next post (that is already up, btw) we would all still get labeled as "mean and unsupportive".

Maybe. This test is becoming commonplace. From my last pregnancy to this one, the no-insurance cost went from $2000 to $350. My doctor's office now has EVERY patient do the test. If they want to pay for it or not is up to them. I complained on another thread that they refused to do the lower cost, NT scan option (and they are allowing it again which I think is great). When I talked to the OB about it, he predicts within the next two years it will be cost-effective enough for it to be the routine testing. I believe that. That is how new medical technology works. And so far, these companies are not seeming to have any issues keeping up. I got my results in 4 days.
Having said all of that, I completely understand where you are coming from. Of course healthy babies are more important. I just don't think that the concern of it affecting high risk women is a big one.

Yep ^^. Maybe a middle-ground approach of letting the thread die after a couple of people have responded with "nope, too early" or whatever would get the message across without the thread devolving into yet another tiresome argument about who's mean/factual and who's supportive/sainty.
