5w1d saw a sac but no yolk. Concerned

Hi everyone I went for my preg test last Monday came back at 88 went back that wed and it was at 307 then wen back this past Monday and it was at 4,000. I went for my first sono on Tuesday 5w1d we saw a sac it measured nicely but we didn't see the yolk. I'm nervous but my dr didn't seem to be he said the next sono in a week we should see the yolk and a week later we should hear the heart beat. I just called and left message with him. Has this happens to anyone. Should I be worried?

I have no experience at all with this, but my general rule of thumb is if the doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either.  5 weeks is still very, very early.

No need to worry. It's still early and even a couple days can make a difference. I had something similar happen with my dd. We were able to see the heartbeat a week later and I found out I ovulate late so my dates were off.

it's still early to see anything but the sac.  I had a 5 w ultrasound with my 1st pregnancy and it was the same and totally fine

I went to the ER and was 5w1d and they measured a gestational sac but no yolk or fetal pole was measured. They said not to worry about it. My dr said in most cases it's at least 6 weeks before those things are visible. Try not to stress! I'm going in for another ultrasound Friday and all the dr said to look for was just a fetal pole. She said the worst thing you can do is expect to see all these things with the baby and then you don't so you panic. I'm nervous about seeing the fetal pole this week. And I'm just praying hard for a healthy heartbeat

Like the other said, no need to worry. We went in 5 was, 3 days and only seen a sac. Went back at 6wks and the little heartbeat was there! Being an IVF. Pregnancy we started monitoring very early, and I had the same concerns! Good luck!

I wouldnt worry. I went in thinking I was 7 weeks according to my lmp, but u/s showed I was 5 weeks. There was only a sac.. no yolk either.. but I went again the next week and all was there.. yolk and heartbeat.

It depends on the ultrasound machine too. I went in for an initial ultrasound at 5 weeks and with the general ultrasound they do in the room with you they only saw a very healthy gestational sac. Week 7 we saw baby, a yolk sack, and heard our little one's heartbeat

@JenniferMasters Thanks for saying this! I was thinking the ultrasound machine used was poor quality. They saw a yolk sac in mine at 6w2d, but nothing else. And the sac was not super clear. Made me super nervous. I'm still nervous, as my next one isn't until Tuesday.

This happened with me with my son. Went back 2 weeks later and everything was fine and we could see the heartbeat

Saw the yolk sac and heartbeat, no fetal pole yet. My ob said that it wasn't unusual considering it my first baby and babies in my family are generally small. (To begin with).
