Tummy Time

My little one absolutely hates tummy time, she cries and cries when we put her on her stomach, and won't lift up her head. When we hold her up she can hold her head up just fine, she is very strong, and also when she's laying on her tummy on me or SO she pushes with her arms to lift the upper part of her body up. Any suggestions on making tummy time more enjoyable?

Both of my kids have always hated it! I know it's good for their development but I've never forced it. My pedi said laying on your chest counts so that's what we usually do.

Maybe put her on a boppy so she can see and lay on the floor in front of her so she can look at you. My little guy seems to enjoy when I'm on the floor with him

I just ordered a folding stand up mirror thing and some picture boards (also folding stand up) from Amazon so she can look at them and she might last like 2 minutes rather than 3 seconds haha

My LO likes to lick the surface below rather than lifting the head up Or to try to crawl, pushing with the legs. The longest he kept the head up was actually at his pediatrician visit and she seemed happy with the progress.

Babies who are lip or tongue tied tend to hate tummy time. This may be something to look into.

I agree with PP about the Boppy. My LO also hated tummy time when I laid her on the floor but would be okay for several minutes with the boppy. Now at 8 weeks she will lay on her tummy without it happily for around 10 or 15 minutes before getting frustrated.

Maybe you could try rolling up a blanket to place under her chest. My sister-in-law learned that at her infants Gymboree class.
