Anyone else super excited to see this this weekend?! Our twins turn 2 Friday, otherwise we'd be seeing it opening day.

I'm letting the oldest watch the originals all week-he wants to go to it so bad.

I'm putting on my flame suit for this, but I have not seen any of the Star Wars movies except the first one. DH wants to go see it this week, so we pre-ordered tickets for opening day. We will be watching the originals all week so my lame ass can catch up lol

I've only seen the three recently made ones. I have no interest in this new one or the originals. DH is appalled by me. ::shrugs::

ETA: I like to tease him that I only watched the "good ones". Then I can laugh as his jaw drops and he sputters in fury.

Do not judge the entire series by those ones... they are awful. The originals are so so so much better. I'm not appalled, but letting you know that you chose to watch the 3 worst movies.

We will probably wait until Monday or so to go see it because we are on vacation and can go see a matinee! I'm cheap and I hate people... win-win!

I want to go so badly! I can't conceive dh that it's worth sitting in a crowded theatre for though. He doesn't like large groups of people. But if I went without him he would be sooooo upset. Sigh...

I'm with you @Mrsschmity I haven't seen any of them, but you're a better wife than I. I have no desire to see any of them, and I'm being mean and having my husband go by himself on his day off of work next week. I feel kinda guilty...but that kinda stuff doesn't interest me and I don't want to waste money when I would probably just fall asleep during it. (Pregnancy has given me the gift to sleep anywhere at anytime lol, I almost fell asleep in Mocking Jay Part 2 the other day and I wanted to see that movie.)

I barely remember them. It was a long time ago!

DH will force me to watch it eventually. But we'll wait until it comes out on Redbox. We also hate people and I'm not paying for a babysitter on top of a ticket so I can sit behind some asshat playing on their iPhone or talking the whole time. Rabble rabble.

Yes! We are going Thursdays at 7 for early release! Bought new shirts and everything! Plus we are getting to skip the line and go straight in to sit because my brother knows the manager! Yaaaaas!

This was me two weeks ago! I work with all men, all, by their own admission, total nerds. I was flamed on my first week for not having ever seen the movies.

A friend got so excited when he heard that we had never seen them that we scheduled dinner and movie nights where we took turns making dinner and over 2 weeks watched, in this order, all the movies; 4,5, a supercut of all the relevant scenes of 1,2,3 which is about 2 hours long, and then 6 last night. All caught up!

Oh god I'm so excited but I don't know when we're going to get to go!! It's crazy season at DH's work so he's there late every night, and we'd need a sitter for the toddler...argh. We're going out of town to visit my parents for Christmas, maybe we'll go after Christmas and leave the kiddo with them? I want to re-watch all of the others beforehand too!

I haven't seen any of them with the exception of episode 1 which according to DH is the worst one of them all. I probably won't watch any of them before we go see this one haha. We got tickets for Christmas Day. DH works every night until Christmas Eve which I am very glad about because I did not want to deal with the opening weekend crowd.

We have plans with family this weekend, and are at a total loss on how we're going to see it. Our eldest is 2 and we don't have any babysitters yet in our new town. We drove 3 hours to my parents' so they could watch our son so we could see Mockingjay. We'll probably do the same for Star Wars, then we'll also be able to see it with some of my sibs.

We're both very excited.

I haven't watched any of them so we are having a Star Wars marathon starting today! We are going to watch it thursday night. Our 7 year old is so excited!

For sure I'm excited. I loved 4-6... never saw 1-3 (just not that interested at the time) so for me, I can just pretend they never happened and carry on with this one.

I can't wait to watch them with my daughter in a few years- great movies.

I bought my hubby the original 3 blu ray collection for Christmas and I will say it was totally one of those selfish gifts like when I bought him the kitchen aid mixer our first Christmas. He loved the mixer and he is going to be totally stoked about the movies too!

I love the idea of a 1-2-3 supercut. My friends and I watch in "machete order" (google it for the long version) which is essentially the same. Episode IV, V, to start with good ones and get to the big reveal, back to II, III for some history, and then forward to VI to wrap it up. No need to watch episode I with awful Jar-jar antics, speed racing, and no necessary plot development! It's also great for marathons because if you need a little nap part of the way through, you miss some of II or III which are the least good of those 5.

We don't own any of the I,II,III trilogy though so DH and I have just been rewatching the originals this week. Still need to buy tickets though, eek! I can't decide if we should see before we go to my parents for Xmas or during (or both?).

Haha, true--we aren't *actually* in a fight. I just told him that now he has to see it twice, and tell me exactly zero spoilers

I think it's pretty cool his boss chose the movie vs a holiday party.

So, we told DS (he's almost 4) that IF its not too scary, then Mommy or Daddy will take him to see it next week when DH is on vacation. DS said, "I want you to take me, Mommy." YES!! I get to see it twice!

Meh. DH and I are planning on watching it when it comes out on DVD. I love IV, V and VI, but I, II and III weren't my favorites, so I don't have high hopes for this one. If people say it's amazzzzzing and closer to the originals, we might go see it, but we're waiting.

Interesting! I might do this. I haven't seen any of the prequels since they were in theatres. I have a cousin my age who's obsessed with them though (moreso than the original trilogy) and is constantly defending them on Facebook, and he's starting to make me feel like I need to revisit them and take them more seriously, lol. I was just such a huge fan of Star Wars as a kid and was so psyched for episode 1 and then it was SUCH a disappointment I never really got over it.

Yes, we got tickets for Saturday night! I'm so freaking excited! Many of my students are going to see it tonight and I jokingly threatened their grades if they give me any spoilers, ha! We'll be seeing it in a newly renovated theater nearby with the big comfy recliner seats. Comfy seating for the win!
