where to look for plus sized clothes?

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting, so hello! I've been lucky up to this point to get away with wearing my regular clothes, and I know that'll only last so long, and I'll soon need to start the search for maternity clothes. I went to a maternity store yesterday, and was discouraged because none of the clothes came close to fitting, and I doubt would even pre pregnancy. I looked briefly online and saw lots of big chain stores with online options for maternity clothes, but I'd like to be able to actually go to the store to try things on. Has anyone had luck in any stores with a reasonable selection of plus sized maternity clothes? Thank you!

I've had some luck at Target for basic long and short sleeve tees and sweaters. I haven't tried their maternity pants yet. I've heard others mention Old Navy, though my local store doesn't carry much in the way of maternity, but lots of nice stuff online.

I have had luck at Target. Their pants actually fit me. However, I hate maternity jeans. I am always pulling them up. But, I love their black leggings. I can't wear the Old Navy pants, they don't fit my chunk thighs, but their shirts have always fit. My local Motherhood store carries plus size, and they are nice too.

If you are near an Old Navy outlet store, they sometimes have more of a selection of plus sized maternity clothes than the regular Old Navy stores.  Also your pre pregnancy size at Old Navy will be your maternity size and they have a decent selection online.  I ordered three tops and some pants and they fit (or will fit once I get more of a bump going) perfectly.

Destination Maternity has the only selection in my area for plus size.

I understand your pain- before I lost 60 pounds prepregnancy, I would have been in plus size as well. I'm still very sensitive to that and check the selection when I go into maternity stores. It amazes me how few options there are in stores for pregnancy gear, let alone plus size maternity gear.

If you're not adamant about trying them on in person, Kohls online has a lot of plus sized maternity stuff.  I did a search of general maternity and at least 1/3 of it was plus sized options.  If they don't fit you can always return in store, or by mail.

I've had no luck with maternity clothes in store anywhere  I went looking for a dress for a wedding and went to Target, Old Navy & JCPenny, none of which had a single maternity rack.  I ended up at Macy's, which had 3 lonely maternity racks of "eh" clothes.  Everything is online which is so frustrating.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and maybe even more helpful, your sympathy. I found out there's a motherhood maternity near-ish by that the website designated had plus size stuff, so fingers crossed? But yeah, this whole clothing challenge was a great way to kick off my pregnancy hormones and get me all upset. I do appreciate all the feedback, and I'm glad it's not hopeless.

I have had great luck with Old Navy online. I wear a size 16 pants and usually XL-XXL tops and their clothes fit me great. My favorite is their side panel maternity pants. I find their plus size selection to be stylish and not frumpy like other places I've seen. The best part about Old Navy is that you can return in store even if you ordered online. My local store doesn't have a maternity section but I've never had an issue returning maternity.

I am relatively small and petite, so I don't have a lot of suggestions, but I recall seeing this recent post about plus sized work maternity clothes on a blog a follow.  It looks like it has some helpful suggestions.
