I do not remember This with my first who is 7. Found out Friday I'm expecting. 4w3d. And it's hit me like a truck. Went to bed last night at 630!! Anyone else? Or is it all in my head
I have been so tired. I mean, I am normally tired because I try to take on everything with work and side projects but I am even noticing being exhausted. And it isn't my normal exhaustion. It is to the point where I feel like I can't function at all!
This is really a silly question. Exhaustion is a VERY normal and expected symptom during pregnancy and especially early on. To ask a bunch of pregnant women if they are tired is like asking if anyone got a positive pregnancy test......
I know it's normal. I am very well aware. Not only have I need of before I am also a nurse. I was opening up conversation. But thanks for letting me know it is a silly question....
I am exhausted this time around and I was not like this at all with my DD! I have been going to bed super early and napping when I can but I'm still exhausted. I am hoping it gets better soon!!!
Recently I've been very tired. Very different than feeling sleepy; this is the kind of aching no-will-to-move tired you get when you have a bad cold. Hoping it doesn't last too long, but could be much worse.
I'm with you! Exhaustion has hit me today. I stay home with my 2 1/2 year old, and she's fighting a cold, so we've spent most of the day on the couch. I cut out caffeine cold turkey my first pregnancy and did ok, and I've switched from coffee to tea this time... Hoping I can survive on just that!
I didn't get the fatigue at all with my first. This time, though, I'm ready for bed by 10am. It also doesn't help that I have a toddler who's going through the 18 mo sleep regression, but even so before I got pregnant I wasn't THIS tired.
audreyjem Doesn't tea have more caffeine than coffee? I don't like tea, so I wouldn't know myself, but my VP drinks it like it's his job and he says it's because there's more caffeine.
RunrinrinI don't think it's a silly question! It's not necessarily a symptom for everyone, so some people may be struggling with it more than others. Like I said above, I didn't get it at all during my first pregnancy, like none whatsoever, so it's a big shock to the system this time for me! Nice to know there are ladies who can empathize! :-)
I've been struggling too! I work night shift and on my days off, I have been known to sleep up to 12 hours ahhh. I have to get up in the middle of my sleep to eat though, because my appetite is insatiable.
@SkiChic626 There's an 18 mo sleep regression??!! That explains some frequent night wakings we've been experiencing with our little guy... I feel like right after I got my BFP the wall hit me too. Almost as if it was psychological. Probs a bit of that and the hormone beasts.
I've been so sleepy but I wonder... I'm so early. I just found out last Thursday. I'm 4 weeks 3 days according to the calculator but I'm so sleepy! With my daughter it hit around 6 weeks and I was virtually narcoleptic it was embarrassing!
Exhaustion hit me at exactly 5 weeks. I was at a friends house and had to pack up my kids and go home at 830 because I couldn't keep my eyes open! I've figured though if I take a 30 minute nap during the day I can make it until mine and hubs usual 1030 bed time
Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I don't drink coffee tea or pop. No idea what to do to help w the tiredness. I'm a nurse and I feel bad yawning all the time when I'm with my patients! I wish I could nap during the day.
