Cold sores and hormones?

i tend to get cold sores once every year or every other year. I've only had three outbreaks ever (caught the virus from my DH a few years ago). I got one the Friday after thanksgiving, and couldn't figure out why because I didn't fit in any of the trigger categories. It went away after about a week and a half, and now I have another one! I've never had them consecutively like this. Has anyone had this problem before? could it be caused by all the hormones from treatment?

Stress is a huge reason for the virus that causes cold sores to pop up, while none of the hormones should suppress your immune system all of the stress your body is under could definitely do it. Also if you are taking medrol (steroid ) post procedure that can do it too unfortunately. There is a prescription antiviral drug called acyclovir but you would have to check with your re and definitely not use if you are planning a fresh transfer.
My husband gets cold sores too and I had an eye ulcer they suspect was from the cold sore herpes virus...most painful 3 days of my life before it started to feel better

Just wanted to update anyone who's interested. I asked my RE about it, and she said that the hormones shouldn't cause it. And that valtrex is safe to take, even during pregnancy.
