2 month shots . Help

Hello my baby girl has her shots tomorrow and I wanted to know if you guys have any advice of how to make them comfortable after the shots ?? Or any tips

Re: 2 month shots . Help

  • Mine just had her tuesday. Ahe did pretty well. She screamed for a few mins after but then calmed down. I took her to the mall so we could walk around with her in the stroller for a little while. She always sleeps that way. She seemed a little fussy later in the evening so i gave her a dose of tylenol.
Her pedi said these shots are usually tolerated well. Its the next set that bothers them more.
    Good luck mama!!

  • I'm anxious as well, going in 2h. I'll try to feed LO during the procedure if they let me and I also bought infant Tylenol, it should help with the pain.
  • It definitely does help with the pain. I think they get more upset from the shock of it to be honest
  • Thank you! I also always go for walks at the store and always falls asleep
  • @mihaelams1 please let me know how it goes for you!
  • We had ours this morning. The shots themselves were finished shockingly fast. I didn't even realize the nurse had done all 3 until she started putting on band-aids! She screamed while it was being done and for a few minutes after and then was okay. I agree that I think it's more shock than pain. And lo was just confused by the oral one.

She's been a bit sleepier so far today. She did wig out for about 30 minutes (about 5 hours later) so I gave her some Tylenol and she calmed down. I think it was more a tired and hungry combo.
  • Be ready to breastfeed or bottle feed right after shots! Calmed my baby down.
  • Be ready to have a cuddle afternoon.

He's currently napping, but stirring a lot with an uncomfortable look on his face. It didn't help that the pediatrician was running late with the appointments and he got overtired during the whole visit :( My arms are sore from rocking him for ~2h in there. He calmed quickly after the shots when I picked him up and took the oral one like a champ, better than the daily vitamin D drops :) The leaflets we got say that 1 in 3 kids will be fussier and 1 in 4 will develop a low-grade fever, so I'm preparing for this.
