Hello ladies, been away from the boards and TTC efforts for a while due to the drain on me mentally and especially financially. BUT, I'm back in the rat race. 37y.o. TTC number 1, figured it was now or never.

Had previously been labeled as "unexplained", but my new RE (number 3) thinks it's the fibroids. I'm scheduled for an abdominal Myomectomy next Friday. Freaking out because I've never had any kind of surgery before. But optimistic that it might be a real chance for us.

Hello welcome. I'm 35, have been TTC for over 7 years. I had a blocked fallopian tube and had surgery in Aug. It went well. Best of luck on your journey. T&Ps for Friday. We Just did our first round of IUI the 29. In the 2ww. Keep us updated.

Thanks for the well wishes. Trying not to get to anxious. Best of luck on your 2ww!! We did 3 IUI's before stopping last time. I'm considering going back that route after this fibroid problem is taken care of.

@ChrisH22 Welcome- I'm 37. I've done two IUIs so far both BFN. My RE nurse  thinks she may have seen a fibroid in my last follie scan so I'm going to go in for a saline ultrasound on Monday and HSG on Tuesday. Hopefully we will get some answers,

Thanks @roxgibbons. Today is CD1 for me, so my surgery is definitely a go! Fingers crossed you get some answers at your next appt, it sucks to have problems, but for me it was even worse to not have something specific to focus on. I knew the fibroids were present from when I had my HSG in the past but my previous RE's never flagged them as the problem. Super disappointing to feel like I've just been wasting time not knowing what the REAL problem was!

@roxgibbons good luck with the HSG and saline US. Have you had either before? I did both a few months ago. The HSG wasn't bad at all but the saline ultrasound was more uncomfortable than expected...

I would recommend planning really low key days for yourself if you can! I planned on working the day of my saline but ended up staying home.

@ChrisH22 that's what I'm hoping for is some answers as we're unexplained at least for now as well.  For the most part all of our test results have been fine. I have borderline low AMH at 1.45 but my RE wasn't concerned as the rest of my numbers looked good and I've responded well to meds. My DH's SA was good but had borderline motility at 30%, but again the RE wasn't too concerned about it and his post wash numbers look fine. So we're really not sure what's going on for sure so it would be interesting to see if I've had fibroids all along and that's been the culprit.

@PSOSat25 I haven't had either before so I appreciate the input. I will definitely plan on some down time those days as I've heard they can be uncomfortable.

Welcome and best of luck! I had two surgeries this summer for fibroid removal and luckily it's not as scary as it sounds. Definitely plan on giving yourself a quiet weekend if they're doing any incisions. But if it's done through a hysteroscopy you should be back on your feet the next day!

It's such a frustrating process dealing with the surgeries and the extra wait time, but hopefully you'll end up with great results!

Welcome back! I'm hoping you find some answers!

I've been TTC for almost 2 years (in May, we started right after we got married.) I have PCOS AND Endometriosis. Our RE thinks that if we aren't pregnant in the next few month they'll want to go in and have a look around.
