Labial Adhesion

I just had my 6 week appointment and the doctor told me I had a labial adhesion because of breastfeeding and lowered amounts of estrogen. He said that it would most likely resolve itself once I stopped breastfeeding but that it could cause discomfort during sex. DH and I haven't done the deed yet but now I'm even more anxious about it being painful! I won't stop BF because of this but it seemed like my doctor was a little hesitant when I asked if he could separate it.

Does anyone else have any experience with this? Did you have your doctor separate the adhesion or did you just wait for it to resolve on its own?

I didn't have that but have definitely needed lube since giving birth and breastfeeding. Make sure to use plenty of KY because the low estrogen levels cause dryness down there.

I had one and they didn't even notice it at my 6 wk PP check. I went back in around 12 weeks. Mine did not resolve, even with estrogen cream and they had to separate mine. I honestly wouldn't even try to have sex until it is resolved one way or another. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. I felt really alone and depressed when I found out about mine.

I just re-read your post and saw that the doc is recommending no treatment until you stop BFing. I would get a second opinion unless the adhesion is really minor and not blocking much.
