TTC after 35

TWW post (week of 12/7 - 12/13)

Posting early since tomorrow is our big day (egg retrieval) and I'm worried I'll forget!

Hi everyone! This is a two week wait post for anyone who is in or soon will be in the TWW. Tell us your symptoms (no matter how crazy they may be!), how many DPO you are, and when/if you'll test. Good luck everyone!

Re: TWW post (week of 12/7 - 12/13)

  • @emsmama15 good luck tomorrow (today?)!

This is our first cycle TTC #1

    CD 25/10 DPO

I had one episode of pink on tp at 8 DPO, one episode of bright red on tp at 9 DPO and mild cramping/weird sensations, almost exclusively on the L side, since 7 DPO. I've had spotting around this time before with AF, but not the mild cramping on one side. I'm worried that I may be imagining it because I want a BFP so bad, so I'm trying not to read into that too much. I've also been fighting an upper respiratory infection the last 3 days and have learned a lot about meds that are and aren't safe during early pregnancy. (Just in case!)

im dying to test in the next day or two, but I'm too afraid of a BFN! Will probably wait until next Monday unless AF shows up over the weekend.
    Me: 39 SO: 36

Dx: low progesterone, possible DOR - officially "unexplained"

    TTC#1 since November 2015
    9/16/2016 IUI#1 - BFN
    10/12/2016 IUI#2 - BFN
    1/21/2017 Clomid/IUI#3 - BFN
    March 2017 IVF: BFP! (beta#1 191, beta#2 378!) - it's a boy! DS born 12/6/2017

    TTC #2 since July 2018
    May 2019 IVF #2: BFP! (beta#1 346, beta#2 646) - vanishing twin at 8 weeks. Baby B still going strong - due 2/8/20!

  • Good luck with your first ER, @emsmama15!

@jenwro - your symptoms sound promising, fx!

I think I go here, although I don't temp so I'm relying on a combo of CM, CP and opks to figure out O day. My best guess is that I'm 1dpo. I didn't O until CD 17 this cycle which I'm not thrilled about since my cycles have only been 25 to 26 days long in recent months. I'm hoping that the B6 I'm taking extends my LP, though, and then the late O might be ok. We dtd -5, -3, -1 and if we can rally tonight (despite having colds and feeling run down) we'll get +1 in just in case. I'm feeling pretty chill about the TWW for now. I feel like I've improved my overall mental and physical health which can only be good for TTC. If I get KU this cycle, that would be an awesome holiday gift, but if I don't, I have holiday debauchery to look forward to!

We are traveling to visit family for the holidays on Dec. 19, so I'm thinking I will try to hold out until the morning of the 19th, but might poas on the 18th depending on what's going on. Then again, I usually start spotting by 9po if AF is coming, so I should have a good idea before the 18th whether or not I shot!

  • Well, AF looks like she is showing up here today, right on time, so that looks like it's closing out my TWW. Pretty disappointed, though it probably won't fully hit me until AF shows all the way up. but for now I am repeating the whole "exact right child at the exact right time" thing to myself. And if this is AF, my next fertile window will fall during my birthday, so maybe I'll get the best birthday present ever and conceive!

Good luck with the retrieval @emsmama15 !

And good luck to you too, @jenwro !
  • @Sporty1216 sorry about AF. Hoping you get the bday present of your dreams ;)@jenwro FX for you!!
  • Thanks, @creatillumination! AF gave signs of showing up and then there has been nothing so far all day today. Toying with my mind, making me think there is hope. But I feel fairly certain she'll be here soon enough. Blah. So hard to know how to feel. But if this isn't my month for a BFP, conceiving during my next cycle really would be THE very best birthday gift. :)
  • @emsmama15, good luck!!!

I'm pretty sure I'm 1 dpo (cycle twins @Mamafesto!). Obviously no symptoms yet, my boobs have been super sore but that's just from ovulation. DH tried to grab them the other morning and I just about bit his hand off. Keeping my fingers crossed, even though we only got sex in at O, O-1 and O-2. I'm going to try not to test until 12 or 13 dpo.

Good luck to everyone else! Sorry about AF @Sporty1216 :(. Hoping for an awesome birthday present for you!

  • My other three embryos arrested.  I'm kind of sad for them, but my expectations were already exceeded, so I feel a little guilty for being greedy!!  We still have the two in my uterus and four frozen.  I'm happy with that.  :)

I'm having some cramping yesterday and today.  I've been googling and it sounds like this is somewhat normal?  I go back to work tomorrow, so no more lazing about.  :)

I'm still trying to decide if I should take a HPT before beta.  I would probably just wait except I have to work on beta day and I really hate to get bad news at work.  And I hate that this process has made me so negative...
