Anyone have pets? (I know - dumb question, lots of people on here have pets)
We have two 3 year old border collies (one is half Australian shepherd too though) and one small orange tabby that's 8-9. We rescued her when we were in college from AC. Her name is Penny (short for Penelope). Ranger is the half Aussie half border and we got him from a ranch that had a litter. He's the best with our 1 1/2 year old son, they are seriously like best buds. Cooper is my papered border collie that I got from the humane society I volunteer at occasionally. Our eyes met and it was love at first sight. My husband wasn't super thrilled about the fact we suddenly had another dog, but he's such a good dog that my husband can't help but be happy I saved him.
This is my firstborn dogson, Scout. Tomorrow is his 12th birthday and he is the light of our life! He's a beagle mix who "talks" to everyone he sees out the window.
We have a 3 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd mix! We rescued him from a local shelter when he was a tiny little pup. We're not sure what he's mixed with. When we got him they said Border Collie and Aussie but I think he's mixed with something bigger than border collie. He's definitely our baby though and I hope he adjusts well to this little one!

I'm sure he will be fine! Our border/Aussie mix is a bigger boy too - and we met both mom and dad. He's about 55 lbs!
We've got a 3 hear old rescued beagle. We think he failed out of hunting because he's scared of loud noises. I'm really excited to see how he does with the new LO, he's incredibly tolerant of pokes, prods and pulls, but you never know...
We have a lot of pets. Three doggies. Milo (Pomeranian), Gunner (Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix), and Lilly (German Shepherd). We also have three kitties, all mixes. They are Violet, Chrissy, and Hootie. We love all of our pets!!
@NLewis1 My mom has a Border Collie and she's SO smart. I love her. When we go visit, we play ball with her for hours! She'd play till she dropped!
We have a Siamese snowshoe named Henry. He's about 6 years old and he's a whiny little shit at 4am. But I love him we also have a rabbit named Reggie. He's 4ish and is the coolest sassy bunny ever. I can't find a picture of him on my phone, otherwise I'd share him
We have a rescue pup who we think is either a labradoodle or schnoodle type mix. She's super smart, loving, and just the best dog ever (not that I'm biased or anything). Here's our little Luna
I love pets! We have a 5 1/2 year old Great Pyrenees named Rajah. He's my first baby...I've had him since he was a puppy. He has to have surgery next week unfortunately....TPLO for his left knee. The tear on his knee was going to happen eventually according to the vet given his joint structure. Vet thinks it was probably kept it at bay this long by him being smaller (he's about 110lb give or take 5lb). I'm really stressed out about the whole surgery and hope it goes ok on Tuesday. The recovery will be rough for him too (6-8 weeks of keeping still and he is an active guard dog usually). The injury won't fix without surgery unfortunately and even though its expensive as HELL, we'd do anything for him. He adores kids and I know he will be great with the baby. This is him on his mini-loveseat.
Three big rescues. We got our white pit mix and our coonhound mix in 2011 and our chocolate pit joined us in 2012. I foster failed with both pits and couldn't be happier I did
@NLewis1 our guy is about 68 lbs! I'm glad to hear yours do so well with kids!
@mkemommy our pup had to have that surgery too! The recovery was definitely the hardest especially because of the no stairs thing and our bedroom is upstairs. We ended up sleeping on the main level with him so he wasn't lonely lol. He usually always lays on the couch so keeping him off of it was so hard!!
We got our shihtzu when my mom's friend was going to take him to the shelter because she couldn't do the puppy thing. He got parvo shortly after we got him and had some intestinal issues that caused his intestines to literally hang out of his body - - which was pretty traumatizing. He was so sick, I almost put him down but my mom convinced me to do the one last surgery and he's still with us 3 years later. Thank goodness I listened.
His name is Squirt. He came with the name, unfortunately haha.
@MrsB8214 - I'm sorry your pup had to go through the surgery too. Did he heal ok? How is he now? When did he get up on his own? Thankfully our house is a ranch style so no stairs for us but our dog is a guard dog through and through at home so keeping him still will be a challenge to say the least. We have a sling for him to help him up and out to go to the bathroom...he's too big to assist without it for me. We also have a soft bed for him for our room. Anything else you found helpful for the recovery?
We have two Newfoundlands, Sadie (almost 4) & Beau (almost 2). My first dogs, DH has had dogs before. We also have three cats, Cleopatra (14), Isis (who we call Mimi...lol. Poor cat. Her name wasn't an issue when I named her 8 years ago) & Frank, he is 2 & the wholly terror of them all! He gets into Everything at night. If I leave anything on the counter, like a bag of chips, bread, pastries in sealed boxes---ANYTHING, He gets into it. The other night he ate a chocolate Santa belly from Krispy Kreme. Pastries & breads are his favorite. Damn cat. (Sadie L, Beau R) (Mimi L, Cleo M & the holy Terror Frank R)
This is Scout our beagle, german shepherd mix! He's extremely tolerant, so tolerant that when a friend brought their baby over and the baby pulled on his whiskers, Scout's reaction was to lick baby's foot! He loves food, cuddles, barking at squirrels, and babies, so hopefully he will love our full-time baby!
I have a beautiful mutt Frebie (free-bee). She is a boxer/shar pei mix and isn't too keen on toddlers so we will have some things to work on with the baby

i LOVE newfies!!!! I would totally have one if H would allow it!
We've got a border collie/terrier mix that I adopted. She's almost 8 years old and is the most tolerant, patient and awesome dog! I keep saying I'll never be able to get another dog because she won't be as good. She is awesome with DD1&2 and we can't wait for her to meet number 3 and be the protector.
Love reading and seeing all your fur babies! We have three dogs, a house cat(but a few barn cats), a horse and a mini horse. Plus our dairy. So lots of animals
This is great. I have a big shaggy bearded collie who is a joy and often comes to my office with me. She's a rescue. @arteduc8 your luna is adorable. Reminds me so much of a rescue I had years ago. We never figured out his breed mix but he was a gem.
Yay Puppies and Kitties! Love seeing everyone's photos. Here are mine, Martini is my cavalier King Charles Spaniel and she is 9, Molson is my Brussels griffon and he is also 9. Gordie is my two year old lab. It's very hard to get them all in the same photo!
We have a 2 year old boxer hound mix named Cooper. He is extremely jealous of me if I pay attention to anything else. We have 2 cats that he chases off if they get within a couple feet of me. One of our cats is 16 years old and has left marks all over Cooper's face before. We have been told to get a baby doll and start to carry it around the house and start to set up things downstairs like toys and things early so he can get familiar with them, and their noises. We are hoping it does ok with it. We also adopted him and you can see the face of why I HAD to take him home. He has been our big baby ever since.
We have Norton (great dane), as well as Gus and Simone (rescue kitties). We joke that Norton is a mediocre dane because he is 135 lbs which is small for a male. The cats definitely rule the roost!
This is our sweet Miss Molly. She is an almost 8 year old Corgi and we got her when she was 9 months old. We bought her from an older lady that didn't want her anymore. She adjusted well when we brought DD home and she was very protective of her. We called her mama Molly.
Love seeing everyone's furbabies. So many wonderful pets! Our gal is 1.5 and we love her to bits. She's a cockapoo and very pack oriented, loves kids to pieces. We feel so lucky to have gotten her (her original owners backed out due to a luxating patella. We figure, you have the dog it's whole life- of course some day it will probably need surgery not a reason to leave the dog). Best decision ever. Can't wait to introduce her to our newest pack member!
