TTC after 35

Checking in :-)

Hi all! I've been lurking for a while.... I introduced myself in the summer when I was still kind of new to everything, but am now solidly in the "trying to conceive" quagmire. It's been about a year without any luck, so we just saw an RE and waiting to see if there is anything medical going on. Just wanted to check in because I know I'll be relying on everyone's experience and wisdom to get through this, however it ends up. I think I'll be needing a place to vent, since in my social group, I am the only one having this kind of problem (my friends are all conceiving successfully) and I don't want to rain on their parade, since of course I am happy for them! Anyway, thanks for being you!

Re: Checking in :-)

  • Also, just realized I should have posted this in the "check-in" discussion rather than making a new post. So sorry! Will be more careful next time!
  • No wories we are waaayyyy more relaxed here! Welcome and good luck!

  • A new post was nice. Glad you're jumping in and I hope you'll find the good support here that I have. We've been trying for #2 for almost a year, so we're facing some of the same questions if we don't get a BFP this month or next.
  • Thanks, guys! This process has had a huge learning curve. And now that I'm passing in to the "difficulty conceiving" category, there is another big bump (no pun intended) in what I have to learn. Vitamins, acupuncture, hormones, IVF, IUI, so much to get up to speed on. Again, thanks so much for your support!

Here is some info about me in case you're interested. My husband and I are both in our late thirties (I'm 37 and he is 38), neither of us have had any children before, and I have never been pregnant. He is healthy but I have type I DM on an insulin pump, although relatively well-controlled.

    Thanks guys!
  • Welcome jumping in full force!  You won't find a more supportive and informative group of ladies!  Hope you won't have to stick around for long ;)
