    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Nothing to complain about...except these stupid headaches!

What are you doing to get ready for baby?
I got a breast pump from a friend (I think our insurance only covers a single manual :( ) and got a free baby tub off FB.

    Questions?
    Nope! Fourth timer here :)

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal?
I'm old and I never buy it because it's so expensive, but Raisin Bran Crunch.

  • Ah! @mrsschmity I missed you yesterday! lol

    How far along are you:
    11 weeks today

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Leg cramps at night...what the hell?!
Also, a rave: we're cutting down our tree today & taking our announcement picture. Exciting! (but I do wish we had snow)

What are you doing to get ready for baby?
Well, not much at the moment. I've been thinking a lot about the nursery, & I want to paint the room soon (I really can't stand the colour it is now). I don't want to do much until 1st tri is over, though.

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal?
Right now it's Frosted Mini Wheats...I've gone through many boxes these last few weeks. I can't get enough!

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Rave: My husband and I both teach at a university, and Friday was the last day of classes.  Christmas break is just around the corner!

What are you doing to get ready for baby?
We're meeting a potential doula today.  This will be our first big baby-related decision (other than deciding to have a baby and picking an ob), so I'm both excited and nervous.

    Questions?
    None today.

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal?
Probably Honey Bunches of Oats.  I have to not buy cereal, because I can eat WAY too much cereal in one sitting.
  • How far along are you: 11 weeks today!!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Thank you for this I love our daily threads!!! Not a lot of symptoms going on besides every weekend I wake up with a pounding headache. I am so nervous/excited for our appointment Monday!

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Not a whole lot but will probably start more after Monday's appointment

Questions? Have you guys started thinking of names? I have but DH refuses to be serious about it and says we will get more serious after we know if baby is a boy/girl...I got really mad a couple nights ago lol

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? All the little kid kinds...fruity and cocoa pebbles, cap'n crunch varieties, frosted flakes. Just not lucky charms I hate the marshmallows lol
  • How far along are you: 10w2d

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Thank God for B6 and carbs. Started taking B6 yesterday, and my nausea is SO much more under control today.

What are you doing to get ready for baby?
Starting to research baby stuff (stollers, car seats, doodads, etc.), and pinteresting the hell out of nursery designs.

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? Hmm, lately it's been whole food's interpretation of cheerios with some banana, blueberries, and raspberries. Before that it was frosted mini wheats. Mmm.
  • @MrsB8214 We've had some discussions about names. DH has usually been the one to initiate the conversation, actually, although lot of the time he's throwing out names as jokes (I'm talking completely ridiculous names that would obviously never be contenders, lol). I'm pretty sure we have made our decisions, but anything could change between now & June.

How far along are you: 10 + 3
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: So ready for second trimester to get here. So sick of being sick. When did you ladies start feeling better (if you have)?
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing yet. Want to wait until NT scan to be extra sure. I am weirdly terrified of a MMC.
GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? I prefer eggs for breakfast (or at least I did :() but I'm a sucker for multigrain cheerios with bananas and strawberries.
  • How far along are you: 11 weeks today (a little envious of those early-June due dates but feeling like my babe was very considerate of the school year! My boss will be grateful).

Rants: Nausea has returned like a beast.
Rave: At least I find the nausea return reassuring :)
    Symptoms: Nausea, boobs hurt...

Getting Ready: We live in a small apartment (in an awesome neighborhood and our rent is amazing) so really just thinking about creative furniture rearranging. If we have a boy, I will look forward to buying some boy clothes... but we're pretty set if we have another girl.

GTKY: I fluxuate but I really do like muesli, granola and boring stuff like that. Ooh except frosted mini wheats are amazing.
  • @MrsB8214: We've pretty well settled on first names for a boy or girl, but middle names are going to be tricky. We want to use a family name for the middle name, but it's a tough choice. We're waiting to find out the sex until birth, so I figure we've got some time, heh.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms? Boobs hurt. Not looking forward to spending ALL day writing a term paper. 10 pages to go.... but my birthday is tomorrow so yay!

What are you doing to get ready for baby? We were initially going to just wait until my anatomy scan Jan 8 to find out the sex of our baby. But I saw the 14 week gender ultrasound thread and even commented how our place in town recommends waiting until 17 weeks (even though they guarantee at 14) but after seeing how many ladies were going in confidently at 14 weeks we booked an appointment a few days before Christmas. We're not telling our family so it'll be fun to surprise them on Christmas when they were expecting to have to wait a few more weeks.

Other than that, we're just looking for a bigger place to live before I get too big to be useful in the moving process.

    Questions? Nah.

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? I could eat cereal for every meal if I allowed myself, I swear. I love Frosted Flakes. I also had an insane desire for Fruity Pebbles the other day so I ate a whole box over a weekend.

    Edited because stupid autocorrect
  • How far along are you: 11w1d

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: 2 puke free days so far. I'm really hoping this is the end of the nausea for me. In other news, I think my baby must have a damn cell phone in there and is a very popular little fetus because the vibrating vag was in full force last night.

What are you doing to get ready for baby?: We just got little rugs for our stairs to increase grip. They're laminate so tacking down a carpet wouldn't go well when we wanted to remove it so this was our main option.

    Questions?: Nope

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal?: Honey Nut Chex. DH used to not let me keep it in the house since he's (epipen toting) allergic to tree nuts and it has almond in it but recently he's been cool with it as long as it doesn't get everywhere.

  • How far along are you:11&6

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: excited to have some energy back! Nausea still comes and goes... Constipation ugh! Love these threads!

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Not much yet, we're team green so we've tossed around some names but won't know until the big day!

    Questions?
GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? I've been on a raisin bran kick (to help with constipation...) but I've always loved frosted flakes
  • Yay!

How far along are you: 12w

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: we hosted thanksgiving last Saturday. I've had breakfast pie (and lunch pie, and after dinner pie...) every day and I am actually down 1lb. Pie is a secret diet food!

What are you doing to get ready for baby? I unpacked all the newborn & 0-3 mo clothes and all related infant toys/necessities. It's all in the new baby's closet, ready to go.

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal?
Honey bunches of Oats for the win!! I eat it with very little milk. (soggy cereal is disgusting) I eat it dry. I take a spoonful of PB and dip it in a cup of dry cereal. It's delicious! ....and I can't stay out of it if we buy it.

@MrsB8214 we've talked about names a bit. I think we have a top two for a boy, but a girl name has been really hard. We both absolutely loved DDs name (Audrey) and everything else just seems a distant second best now.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Not a whole lot symptom wise. We got our Christmas tree yesterday & I can't wait to decorate our house and shop next week because my Mom took the week off work to hang with DS & I!

What are you doing to get ready for baby? I'm still in denial I am pregnant. My tornado 13 month old keeps me plenty busy! I don't plan to do much anyway though because I'm just adding a crib to the guest room, not doing another nursery.

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? Rice Krispies are my favorite with a little bit of sugar sprinkled on top!

@MrsB8214 Names are hard! I disagreed with the name DH insisted on for our son the entire 9 months until he basically was born and I was filling out the birth certificate and caved. I've been thinking of a few, but I definitely have naming rights for this baby! I'll prob wait until we know for sure if it's a boy or girl to get down to a discussion.
  • @hockeyfan42 we love our daughter's name too (Joanna Joy) and it's hard to come up with a second. As a compulsive planner though, I've got something in mind.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:I'm sitting in my car listening to the Civil Wars and indulging myself in The Bump (waiting for a damn parade to start). I've got ginger ale and halos. I'm a happy camper. Feeling good.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Right now just coming up with ideas. Haven't bought anything but I'm kind of a minimalist and I don't foresee going crazy with purchases other than basics.

Questions? I never have trouble with dandruff and I've been noticing some flakes the last week or so. Can't decide if it's cooler, dryer weather or pregnancy. Anyone else?

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? I really used to LOVE fruit loops ( like in middle school) but I've been on honey nut Cheerios and cinnamon toast crunch lately.

    Edited to add:
@MrsB8214 we have our names almost picked out. Still working on middle name if it's a boy. We're team green.

@catherinekate I noticed that most of the few symptoms I had were letting up a lot by the end of my 9th week but I didn't have any ms or nausea. Hopefully you will start feeling better soon.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Nothing much. We just booked a hotel in FL for Spring Break so I'm excited for that. I hope I feel good enough at 30 weeks to go. FTM so not sure how I'll be feeling.

My OB told me I have a low pubic bone which "usually doesn't really matter, typically". But of course I Dr. Googled it and a bunch of sites noted how natural deliveries can be harder. I'm curious what my midwife will say.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing since yesterday.

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal?
Fruity pebbles!!! But I try to eat more organic cereals with less sugar. If I buy a box of fruity pebbles it'll be gone in two days... I also love raisin bran!

  • First time posting on this type of thread and my ticker change is tomorrow and I might just post there too, I'm feeling social lately lol

How far along are you: 12/6

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: nausea has subsided quite a bit but killer headaches and I'm an emotional mess. Crying over everything and I have more blemishes on my face than i think I've ever had in my life combined. I don't have any close friends with children and I'm feeling lonely since people have bailed on me since my lifestyle is no longer conducive to late nights and alcohol. Aka finding out who my real friends are.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Just trying to take care of myself for now. Waiting until second tri to buy anything. Have a girl name picked out but we just decided to veto our boy name for popularity and family reasons,so back to the board for that one. And we are struggling with it big time.

    Questions? A million. (Ftm)

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? All of them. Seriously. I even like grape nuts. I have a feeling this morning it will be Doritos though. Awful I know but they sound so good. I might even sneak a small glass of Dr Pepper.
  • How far along are you: 11+3

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling exhausted but have been having trouble falling asleep at night. Like, wide awake until 2am, despite being so tired when we went to bed. And stomach sleeper, but boobs still hurt and tummy feels a little sore at times if I put pressure on it. Plus I have to get up to pee 4-6 times between when I get in bed and get up in the morning. And my dreams are INSANE.

What are you doing to get ready for the baby? Not much. We got the stroller, car seat, and two bases. We are more trying to decide how to announce to our families for Christmas. Only my sister and her husband know, which is good because they live out of state and wouldn't be able to be there any way. Can't believe we have been able to keep it secret from our parents' and other siblings for this long! I've been trying to think of baby names. Husband told me last night he thinks we should just wing it and come up with a name when the baby pops out. Um. No.

    Questions: I've got nothing today

GTKY:Favorite cereal- I love cereal and have been eating it even more this pregnancy. I've been going to bland cheerios because it doesn't upset my nausea. But I love Golden Grahams and Life Cereal a lot. Now I'm going to go have a bowl!
  • @kjo79 The loneliness is terrible. I'm in a similar place. I do have friends with kids not we're not that close and they live far away. Very worried about PPD since I expect to be very isolated. Message me if you ever want to talk. ❤️
  • @kjo79 I feel you on the friends thing. Sorry you're going through the same thing. People suck. H told me last night that some of our friends are getting together to hang out and watch movies but we're not invited (weird that they even told him this, but I digress.)

Apparently, "that's what happens when you're wife is pregnant. You get excluded from things." Apparently, their reasoning for not inviting us is that they want to smoke.

So!? Go outside or I'll step outside or whatever. I'm having a child. I'm not dying. I was pretty angry about it last night, but I'm over it. Ironically, they are some of our only friends with a kid but I don't think I'll be hanging around them much anymore.
  • @catherinekate thank you so much!!! I just might take you up on that. I've also thought about getting involved in some groups and counseling before the baby comes to get a head start. I worry about ppd too. I heard about this baby hiking group that I want to check out since I love the outdoors and we will have months of nice weather to get outside after baby is born.
  • I'm so impressed how many of you already have names picked out!! That's awesome! I think we have a girl name but boy names have been our struggle

@DeePaddy24 my husband throws out the most awful names and the other day I wanted to be serious about it so I was getting really frustrated! Almost all of his names come from athletes and are very unique lol
  • @ahernandez16 ugh. Jerks. It's weird, I don't miss the booze and def not the smoking. Or the people really, I guess it just hurts to be excluded. And I feel a little lame for putting so much energy into these relationships that obviously meant nothing over these last few years. I look on my FB and Instagram and I realize, wow all of these people I filled my life with only care about alcohol, hooking up and partying. Not trying to put anyone down if that is what you are into but I'm just happy that part of my life is over. Ready for the next chapter and more meaningful relationships. Even though I know I'm on the right track these damn hormones make the loneliness ache a little more.

Hahaha! @MrsB8214 we really are twins. That's what my husband does most of the time, too. His logic...if we name our child the name of an athlete, our kid will obviously be athletic as well! Ridiculous!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Excited and nervous for my NT scan on Tuesday

What are you doing to get ready for baby? absolutely nothing yet, due to a combination of not wanting to jinx anything and laziness. Plus I have saved a lot of DS's and DD's clothes so we are set for that. Also, our spare room is used as a guest room/office so not sure where that stuff is going to go. The mattress in that room is so comfy I don't want to get rid of it. Also, DD's room is the closest to our room so we are thinking about using that as the baby room but don't know how to convince her to give up the room willingly and without resenting the new baby.

Questions? not really, 3rd baby for me

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? I like granola cereals with chocolate in them. YUM!

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms?
Well yesterday I had to go to the hospital. I was experiencing severe stomach pains, vomiting, diarrhea. I couldn't keep anything down and the pain was brining me to tears. So I got IV fluids and pain medication and was diagnosed with a GI tract virus. The doctor told me this was quite common in pregnancy apparently. They tried to find the heartbeat for me and thought they did for a second, but I was in too much pain to try and find it any longer. They wouldn't give me a u/s since I wasn't having lower stomach cramping -lame, but oh well. I've just been sleeping ever since thankfully. Finally feeling a little bit more normal today. My organs hurt if that makes any sense.

What are you doing to get ready for baby?
Nothing yet. I want confirmation that everything is well and healthy before I make any moves. I did buy some cute outfits while we were trying to give to my husband when I found out I really was pregnant, tho!

    GTKY: What's your favorite cereal?
Omg idk. So hard. Right now I can barely think of food. I usually like Raisin Bran though!
  • @huskypuppy14 I told my boss during our regular supervision about a week ago. I am very close with her and she already had some clues. It was actually a relief for me to tell her because we came up for a great plan on how all of my stuff will get covered while I am off for a bit. I am a contract worker and one of the other contract workers will be picking up more hours at that time (since their normal job stops during summer) so they will be able to cover until I am ready to come back. I don't have any maternity leave or anything like that, so I am hoping to start going back slowly before too long, adding a couple of hours here and there and seeing what works for my family.
  • Happy Saturday, everyone!

How far along are you: 12+4

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:  I've been feeling so much better the last week and half.  I did have a little nausea rear its head last night, but tolerable.  Just peeing a lot and have restless legs at night.  Super happy my blood work results have been trickling in and everything is good so far!  Anxiously waiting for the genetics test results next week- those are the ones I'm really nervous about.

What are you doing to get ready for baby:  I committed to taking the pregnancy day by day during the first trimester so I'm waiting until I get my test results (and gender) to really start planning.  I'm so hesitant to get excited which has put a little bit of a damper on the whole experience.  I'm hoping to kick that once I'm out of the first trimester.  Then it's time to start picking names and planning a nursery.  I won't start making purchases until next year- probably around March/ April.  AHHHH- seems so far away.

Questions:  When should I start a registry?  Is food aversion/cravings only during the first trimester?  Who hung up a little stocking for the LO???

GTKY- What's your favorite cereal:  Captain Crunch with Crunch berries, but Fruity Pebbles is a close runner up.

Nothing to rave about except that I haven't thrown up for almost a full week now!!!! Yay!

Haven't done anything to get ready for baby as it feels too early and I love to procrastinate!

Haven't eaten cereal since I was a kid!!! Back then my favorite was wheat chex ...

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: tired, cod sore still huge, nausea less but still there too. I am finding getting the energy to be productive with my one year old hard. She of course needs constant attention and some times I just want a break and to run off and sleep.
What are you doing to get ready for baby?- we don't have much to get for this one and just had painted the room before I got pregnant so until the scan I don't have anything to buy.
    Questions?
GTKY: What is your favorite cereal? I like corn flakes or weetabix or bran flakes. All depends on my mood. This week has been corn flake mad!!

Forgot to add my take on names. We are set for a boy but we love our Dd name so much that it is hard to find another we agree on. We did is week and then found out it is extremely popular and that kind of puts me off. I don't mind that the name isn't youuunique but a top 5 name for the last 10 years?anyone have an opinion on picking popular (but traditional names?). Will child hate me when there are 40 of her name in class?! (I am over thinking this!)

  • Hi! I'm new here, and this seemed like a good place to jump in..?

    How far along are you:
    14 weeks today.

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I've barely had any symptoms, except that I'm super-exhausted all the time.
We did get to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time 2 days ago. Amazing!

What are you doing to get ready for baby?
Not too much yet. Trying to research the big purchases (crib and car seat, especially), but I'm kind of overwhelmed by it. I'm an art teacher - so I'm DIYing our announcement, a gender-reveal photo, and stuff for the nursery walls. Pretty excited about that.

    Questions?
I've been lurking, and have seen a bunch of "new car" posts! My car is newer and safe and in really good shape, but it's a subcompact... Should I look into getting something else?

GTKY: What is your favorite cereal?
I love cereal. I've been eating tons of Apple Cinnamon Cheerios as random snacks lately.
