How do YOU pronounce Emmeline

Names ending in "Line" are so confusing, at least for me.

Emmeline- I say "Leen"
Madeline- I say "Lynn"
Adeline- I say "line"

I might be the oddball, but thats how I pronounce then all.

I looked up the origin and "leen" is the original pronounciation at behind the name. I say line. I'm just a visual person. For this reason Celtic names also baffle me.

Emmeline is germanic in origin.

But yes, Gaelic is confusing for anyone not familiar with the language. (I am not familiar with it either, which is why my suggestions are always pretty standard whenever someone says they want an "Irish " name. )

I pronounce it Emme - leen. I thought that's how everyone did? I know a couple Emmeline's in real life and that's how they pronounce it too.

When I see -line, I think line, just like Madeline. I know some people pronounce it lynn though. I think that's why the Madelyn spelling has become popular.
