I looked up the origin and "leen" is the original pronounciation at behind the name. I say line. I'm just a visual person. For this reason Celtic names also baffle me.
But yes, Gaelic is confusing for anyone not familiar with the language. (I am not familiar with it either, which is why my suggestions are always pretty standard whenever someone says they want an "Irish " name. )
When I see -line, I think line, just like Madeline. I know some people pronounce it lynn though. I think that's why the Madelyn spelling has become popular.
