So I noticed there were a couple others... want to check in? What are you working on? Want to share any images of items you will be working on for this LO?
I just started crocheting this year. My first creation was a baby blanket for a dear friend. I'm currently working on scarves for my nieces for Christmas.
After those are done i'll need to think of something to make for the baby. I'll be interested to hear what others are working on.
I'm so jealous! I am a pretty good seamstress, so have already printed out TONS of patterns to sew... But knitting is the one thing I cannot get a hang of, and really want to! I always try to make something simple like a scarf, and manage to mess even that up... Haha! I'll have to attempt it again. I'll stick to sewing for now, and plan on making LOTS of blankets, swaddles, clothing and dresses and headbands if it's a girl.

I'll trade you goods! I want to sew but cannot get the hang of it for the life of me :-)
I crochet! I have no patience for knitting, haha. I am currently making a bunch of stuff for others for Christmas but plan on making lots for baby in the new year!
I do not knit but I have crocheted 1 thing in my life. I started a blanket more than 8 years ago before I was pregnant with DS and I made it too big so I lost interest before I finished it. DH's grandmother that was just staying with us for the past 2 weeks finished the last 2 rolls of yarn for me in 1 day. LOL. I have been sleeping with it now for the last 2 nights. I actually wouldn't mind relearning to crochet so i can make one of those cute little beanie hats and maybe a blanket for the baby for newborn pics. I also would like to learn how to make one of those Amigurumi stuffed animals.
Once I know the gender I'll be making a car seat/stroller blanket. I also want to make some cute hats for the newborn shoot, but again I'd like to know what this baby is!! I'll mostly do sewing for this baby. My mom and I are going to work on a quilt, burp cloths, changing pad cover, etc.
I tried crochet for a while but I can't do it very often. I get anxious and frustrated when I do it which is odd because I know it relaxes most people. I do like to sew but don't do it near as much a so want to. It's hard when I have no dedicated space and DS won't leave the cords or foot pedal alone when I have it on the table. I have to make a couple blankets I've the nest few days though for a couple baby showers I have this weekend.
I crochet (and kind of knit) and sew and it has taken all of my will power to not be at joanns every day buying stuff to make for the baby. I'm waiting until we know the sex to start making anything but I know I'll be making a quilt and likely a knitted or crocheted blanket as well. My mom and MIL both are crafty too so this baby is going to be decked out in hand made goodies.
I crochet! I haven't tried knitting yet but I have made the arm knit scarfs. I actually made them for DHs cousins girls for Christmas. I also crocheted them ear warmers. I'll post pics when I get home! I'm also just learning or relearning I guess (my mom taught me a little bit when I was young) to sew. DH got me a sewing machine for Christmas last year and I've made several projects this past year.
I made several crocheted hats for DD. I will probably do the same for this LO once we find out the sex.
I knit and sew (when my machine cooperates. I have tension issues) and I'm currently working on a beanie for my 7 month old niece. It's a brown hat with teddy bear ears on it. I like hats. I don't have the patience for scarves.

I knit. I started knitting baby stuff as soon as I found out. I'm currently making a mermaid tail blanket now that I know it's a girl. I made a hat and diaper cover a few weeks ago.

Yes, I knit! I love it. I am just working on a beanie for my BF right now. However, I found out 2 hours ago that we are having a girl. So, I will probably go nuts at the yarn store this weekend. I lost my baby girl at 19 weeks a couple years ago so I will probably be the crazy mom that dresses her in nothing but pink.
I've never seen this kind of thing on one of the bmb's before. I am excited to start sharing our projects with each other.
@GBabyMom I liked for the excitement in knitting for a girl, but so sorry to hear of your loss! Hugs. And I would love to have a check in for the knitters/crocheters! And sewers too :-) Even though I am so jealous of people that sew...
can anyone give suggestions of books or tutorials to self teach how to crochet? This is something I used to kind of do for relaxation but never got good at it, now I want to relearn and make things for the baby.

Seriously YouTube is a great resource. Books never did it for me, the diagrams just never made sense. MooglyBlog really helped me with the fancier stitches (and shes got a whole site full of free patterns that are actually pretty good) and there's tons of basic how to videos on YouTube if you just search for them.

Do you think it's something I can pick up and be able to do pretty well before the baby gets here? How special would it be for me to be able to make babies first blanket? Love that idea. Thanks for the suggestions. I agree with you, I had a book once that was nice for the getting started parts but I was always making the knots too tight or too loose and or not being able to count out the rows correctly so it was off. I got so frustrated with it that I quit and I regret it now.

Definitely! I picked it up after giving up as a child in a few weeks time. It doesn't take complex stitches to make something that looks nice. I made the attached blanket for my niece after only having crocheted for a month or so, it was my second actual project.

Wow, that's gorgeous. @Sgoldberg247! I have crocheted exactly one project--a baby blanket for a friend that consisted of a double stitch only You ladies have inspired me to venture back to crocheting and attempt some other projects. I figure I have 7ish months to figure it out, right? Haha.

Thanks! If I remember correctly other than the starting stitch and final border, that blanket was entirely double crochets. Like I said, it doesn't take a lot of skill to make something that looks nice.
I knit and sew but my goal is to learn how to crochet this pregnancy. My sister in law and I will be focusing on this while we wait for christmas to approach. Im hoping to bring some home made goodies with me to the hospital.
I knit but I haven't started any new projects in a long time. I'll probably make some hats and a stroller blanket before baby is born. I have a bunch of cute patterns for baby sweaters and little toys saved on ravelry too.

That is gorgeous!!!! Ok I'm sold.. I want to learn. I think I'll pick up the supplies this weekend
I mostly crochet, but I can knit a little too. I have a bunch of things to finish for Christmas presents and then I want to make a bunch of things for baby!

@NicknShan I would love to have a check in. I went Christmas shopping yesterday and bought so much pink yarn. I'm so excited to start knitting. She's going to have too much when she gets here.
I got a bunch of Debbie Bliss books, my mother in-law and I have split up a couple of patterns between us is jumpers and dresses and I plan on knitting a crib blanket with a kit I'm buying off Purl Soho site's.
