Play/awake time activities ...,

Hey ladies,
My LO is almost 9 weeks and has been more awake during the day. I usually talk and sing to her, walk from room to room showing her things as she's been quite alert, we also have a swing and jungle gym.
She doesn't last more then 10 mins in the swing and jungle gym and walking around can get tiring after 20 mins (she's 11lbs). I also run out of things to sing or talk about with her ...
Just curious what activities do you ladies do with your LO to keep them engaged while awake?

My son likes to lay on a playmat that has dangling toys. He is only 6.5 weeks old but he swings his arms and kicks his legs a bunch so when he hits the toys and they sing or make noise he gets excited. It keeps him occupied for 30-60 min at a time.

My LO is 7.5 weeks. She loves her swing. I talk to her a lot. And when I need to get stuff done I turn cartoons on for her, she seems to really like Curious George. We'll turn music on and I'll dance with her. And I recently started reading to her. I know my dad is getting her a playmat with a kick piano for Christmas so she'll have that too, soon.

Hmm that's good! Her attention span is short and couldn't last with one thing for more then 10-15 mins.
She starts to cry or fuss but when we move onto another thing she calms ...

My 8 week old likes the mirror and rotating birds on his swing, as well as his jungle-themed mobile - he smiles and coos at both for quite a while, up to 30 minutes even. I also lie him face up on my knees with his feet to my chest and we "discuss".

Harper has that may with the piano and she loves it!! Kicks the crap out of the piano and has recently (this week) started scooting herself backwards off the mat.

My almost 10 week old loves this mirror toy that is on a snail toy. It makes noise and lights up. When he gets bigger, it rolls so it can be chased. We have a rattle that is a big hollow ball he can grab at. We also do music time, where I turn on my iPod and we dance around or he lays on his back and kicks his legs and waived his arms.

My 7 week old loves his play mat with dangling toys! When he's alert I talk to him, read show him things, all that good stuff. If I'm needing to get things done his swing keeps him happy for some time. But don't underestimate a baby's need for unstructured quiet time! It allows them to observe and take in things at their own pace without being overstimulated

my daughter loves to spend time on her play mat (fisher price piano gym) and kick her legs against the piano to play music/hit the toys, otherwise we do tummy time, let her lay on the couch and look around/kick her legs and giggle, we do stretches and I take her hands and touch them against her nose, cheeks, forehead, squish her cheeks, rub her belly with them and tell her what each part is (she loves this!), read books to her, or walk around the house and show her things like the Christmas tree with the lights or we sing and dance.. When I need to get things done I put her in the rock n play and put mother goose on where they sing nursery rhymes or word world on Netflix which she loves looking at the animals and bright colors (a cow came on the screen mooing and she burst out giggling it was too cute)... If I put the tv on for her though it's only for 15-20 minutes at a time so I can throw in a load of laundry or finish doing the dishes/do my makeup I found online you can have her smell different things like soaps, food etc to stimulate different senses! I haven't done that yet though

Yes if all else fails I walk her to the Christmas tree with the lights and colorful ornaments and that seems to draw her attention !

Read stories! Its so good for babies to hear reading voices. Also get black and white pictures/ books. Let their hands and feet touch different textures. Copy their facial expressions.
