When to test after a trigger shot

Hi all,

I did a trigger shot on Nov 16 in anticipation of IUI on Nov 18.  You may recall, it didn't go as planned due to DH unable to provide sample.  We BD on Nov 14 and 15, but nothing until well after that.  They had told me to go for beta if we BD around the time, but I haven't yet.  I was supposed to go today.  Does anyone know when AF is expected after the trigger shot?  14 days?  Or 14 days after IUI?  Any help is appreciated.

It should be your normal LP.  You should O 36 hours after a trigger shot (IUI or TI doesn't matter).  Then count from there.  The trigger shot shouldn't change your LP.  Most REs tell you to wait 14-16 days after trigger before testing.

It should be about 14 days after O, assuming you have a 'normal' LP. So that would be around today. It wouldn't hurt to test today, but definitely you should be getting either a BFP or a period within the next few days if you haven't already. I'll have my FX for a BFP! I personally had positives within 10 days of the trigger (which were no longer trigger as I had a negative before).

Thanks for the info...I am trying not to keep my hopes up...but I'll maybe take a test tomorrow morning.  I did test to see if the trigger was out about a week after, and I had a negative.  I did trigger around 7:45PM on the 16th so I don't know if that makes a difference.  Last month I triggered I got AF 15 days after supposed IUI.

My doctor says to test 14 days after trigger.  Someone else on here said 16 days after trigger.  Today is 16 days.  I think you are safe to test.

Well I am debating if I should just go for beta tomorrow morning instead of using a HPT.  I have the requisition and they are more sensitive anyhow.  I am assuming I'm not pregnant because we didn't BD very close to my planned IUI...it would have been three days prior to my IUI.  I know it's easiest to test.  I have broken out in acne the last few days and had a terrible headache on Monday.  I am so sure I'm not pregnant when I had x-rays at the dentist yesterday I didn't even mention it.

Well I got up this morning and got a BFN. Still no AF so I'll go for beta Monday if I don't get my period. My progesterone was 85 so I know the trigger shot worked

Sorry about your BFN @junicek.  How is your DH doing, has he decided to continue trying?

@wifeinraleigh28 we have not discussed anything, I don't want to push for anything until the new year when we will hopefully be back on solid ground. I think we need a break from stress in general!
