I found out on Monday that fetal development stopped about 10 days prior and that there was no longer a heartbeat. We are totally devastated. After all of our struggles and adventures in getting pregnant, I thought that this was it. Finally, what we had been hoping for was coming true. It all seemed to be happening just right. Long story short, DH and I sold our home and all of our possessions and quit our jobs to travel to the Czech Republic for 6 months to undergo IVF (due to drastically reduced cost and the possibilty for adventure.) When I found out we were pregnant we had done 3 full rounds of IVF each with a fresh transfer, a natural IVF cycle and a FET cycle. The FET was the successful one and meant that I would be just under 12 weeks when flying home but with 2 weeks left in Europe we are now waiting to miscarriage naturally. It is such a weird feeling wanting to still be pregnant and wishing I would start bleeding. From reading others post I know that this process can take awhile to happen. I am wondering if anyone else was on medications to support pregnancy (I was on progesterone, estrace and an injectable blood thinner) and your experience with stopping them and waiting for a natural miscarriage. Thank you ladies for sharing your experiences and I am sorry for your losses.

Re: MMC - waiting for a natural miscarriage...
Stopping those meds is likely to help your body along as the body tends to drop progesterone when it learns the pregnancy is not viable and this gets the bleeding started. This doesn't always happen, though, and the body sometimes takes its time to realize it's "not pregnant" anymore... edit to add: this last bit causes mmc's.
I had a MMC while on progesterone. It was discovered at 8w2d but the pregnancy never developed past 5w5d. My experience is I stopped progesterone, took 2 rounds of cytotec and nothing happened for a week. After a week I took another round of cytotec and started bleeding. So my experience is different from yours in that I took cytotec, but I definitely think being off the progesterone for a week was necessary even with the cytotec.
Thoughts and prayers for you through all of this.
