PGAL Check In

We seem to have several loss moms in here already so I thought it would be a good idea to have a weekly check in for us to help keep us sane. I came up with just a few things to check in about, but if there's anything else you want added, I can certainly do that.

    Symptoms: Absolutely nothing.

Symptoms: some digestive issues, that's about it (.....so far....)

    @mrsgillham14 ;

My O date was 11/8 and that puts me at July 31st.  Today I am 5 weeks based on that.  Using my LMP which was 10/20 puts me at July 26th.  Today I would be 5w + 5d based on that.  I rather go into an ultrasound and see a baby ahead than behind, so until then I am using my O date.  I used the calculator on Fertility Friend.  My DD was a week late so I am assuming either way I will end up with an August baby, given everything goes as planned.

    Weeks: 4w4d

Previous losses: blighted ovum in 2014, negative test after an IVF in October (a loss to my heart)

Symptoms: not much, cramping. Massive bruising to my butt from progesterone shots!

    Next appointment: 12/15

GTKY: What is your biggest fear? Another blighted ovum or a miscarriage. I just can't again! And huge centipedes (like the orange and blue ones in Texas), spiders, and harm to my family!

Little boy due July 31st 2016

  • Weeks: 3w6d

Previous losses: 2. One mmc at 11 weeks. And another at 10 1/2 weeks September 2014. The most recent was a horrible experience with misoprostol. I ended up having a d&c after a week and a half of passing huge clots. Part of the placenta was still attached.

Symptoms: Smells bother me already. It's actually what prompted me to test again today. Sore boobs, but that happens before I get my period too so that's not unusual.

Next appointment: I just got my bfp this morning, so I haven't made one yet!

GTKY: What is your biggest fear? Fear of loss again. Always. But I can't let it stop me from being excited and hopeful!

Next appointment: Not sure yet. The doc is supposed to call me with beta hcg results today. I assume we'll schedule an appointment after that.

GTKY: What is your biggest fear? Having another loss. My heart was so broken, and we really want a baby.

@LilLambie They are HUGE! They are about 7 inches long, a one inch body with legs that make them about 3 inches thick and 8 inches long. They make me want to simultaneously scream and vomit when I see them. I don't live in TX, thank gosh, but I used to visit there and went to school there.

Previous losses: my son was 13 days from being 2 1/2 when he passed away due to Tay Sachs Disease....November 15 2014

Symptoms: not many, sore boobs. Nausea and fatigue come and go

    Next appointment: Dec 15

    Biggest fear: Tay Sachs Disease!!!!
  • Weeks: 3w6d

Previous losses: 3. May '15 at 4w5d, Aug '15 at between 4-5 weeks, and Oct '15 at 6 weeks. I started Clomid this month to try and help make a sticky baby. My fingers are crossed but we'll see!

Symptoms: exhausted, sore back, some tingling breasts, and that overall off feeling.

Next appointment: I haven't called yet, I just got a BFP. I'm assuming they'll check HCG next week.

GTKY: What is your biggest fear? Not being able to have a second child. My DS was completely unplanned (he's 2) and his only real issue was he was breech. Now, I get pregnant as soon as my DH looks at me but the pregnancies don't last. Also, spiders. I hate those ugly, creepy things.
  • Weeks: 3w 4d

Previous losses: ectopic rupture in August 2012, blighted ovum in May 2015, chemical in July 2015

Symptoms: just peeing a lot but that could just be because I'm making it a point to drink more water.

Next appointment: hcg blood draw Monday.

GTKY: What is your biggest fear?
    Another loss!
  • Hi!
    Weeks: 4 weeks, 2 days

Previous loss: My son, Jack, was born premature at 22 weeks this summer, and passed away. I had SCH bleeding throughout that pregnancy which eventually led to an infection in my uterus which triggered labor.

Symptoms: I'm like a superhero whose power is smelling disgusting things from far away.

Next appointment: waiting to hear back from my doctor's office- really hoping they'll be able to squeeze me in before the holidays.

GTKY: This is weird, but I really don't like those people who stand perfectly still at tourist attractions. They freak me out!

  • @lfh22 I'm with you on the super hero smelling powers! I smelled a drop of spilled nail polish remover buried underneath a pile of cotton balls from across the room when no one else could smell it. Acooked eggs always smell gross, but now it's unbearable!

@mrskal I think it's pretty normal! I've had some mild cramping too. I'm so paranoid everytime I go to the bathroom that I'm going to wipe and see blood, but these hormones or the prenatals or something are messing with my intestines!
  • Weeks: unsure. I miscarried early November and got pregnant before I got my period again. Between 3+5 and 5 weeks.

Previous losses: one. Unsure what happened. November 2015.

Symptoms: gags and heaves. Boobs feel tingly. Very cold.

Next appointment: I'm supposed to call in a week or two to set up a series of hcg/progesterone blood tests.

GTKY: What is your biggest fear? Never meeting this sweet baby.

  • @1faceinacrowd had you gotten your period after your loss and did you get pregnant in between? My loss was just a week after yours and in wondering what to do in terms of going in for my beta hcg
  • @ThePax89 for dating purposes, they'll use the first day of your miscarriage bleeding as your LMP.
  • I'm scared a lot. Every time I go to the bathroom I think about it bc I've had some mild cramping. I had an ectopic in March. Very nauseous, so hopefully that's a good sign.
  • @Kristin712 by that standard I am 4 weeks 1 day. Lmp/mc date of nov 7. I believe I am a little further along. My pee sticks seemed wicked dark and my symptoms seem a bit brutal for 4 weeks.

You can't actually be further along if you started bleeding 4w1d ago. 4+1 is the maximum gestational age you could be.
  • Thank you for starting this thread!

    I am 4 weeks + 2 days (I think).
Previous loss: one, discovered at 10.5 weeks (estimated loss around 7 weeks). D&C on Oct. 6, 2015.

I had 2 weeks of light brown spotting after my D&C. Three days heavy (for me...) bright red bleeding starting Nov. 4th. I originally thought it could be residual bleeding from my procedure as my first post-op hCG was 40.   Upon recheck of my hCG 2 weeks later, my level was still a 3 (about 5 weeks after my procedure). When rechecked again 2 weeks after that it was 23! My OB had me go back in again 2 days later and my levels had more than doubled to 73. hCG and progesterone drawn again last Friday so fingers crossed things are progressing normally. Will make my appointment after they call with results.

Symptoms: much less than last time so far. Some fatigue and vivid dreams.

Biggest fear: Being trapped underwater/sucked under waves.
  • Weeks: 4 weeks, 4 days

Previous losses: 1 miscarriage at 8 weeks in 2007

Symptoms: sore/bigger boobs, painful bloating, frequent heartburn

    Next appointment: December 21st

GTKY: What is your biggest fear? My biggest fear is that my last miscarriage was random. I find myself hoping that it was something I did that caused it (I was young and dumb and scared... Drank too much caffeine and didn't make the best lifestyle choices). I'm doing everything right this time. If it was random that means it could happen again :( anyone else relate?
  • @saam0815 Totally relate. We lost our last one this past March. No reason. I'm just hanging on to knowing that worrying won't help either way. Good luck to you! Thoughts and prayers for all of us...
