Non-stop headaches!!! Anyone else?

The last 5 weeks or so (I'm 13 weeks+1 today) I've had horrible headaches and occasional migraines almost every single day!! I hate taking Tylenol and try to push through most days but some days-like today-make it so hard to ignore it!! Anyone have any suggestions for curing a headache aside from Tylenol?? I didn't have morning sickness so I guess this is my trade off!

Re: Non-stop headaches!!! Anyone else?

  • I've been having a lot of headache to in the last 2 weeks (im at 13 weeks tomorrow) but not as bad as yours. I try to no take tylenol, but sometime I will have one before bed. I tried small amounts of caffeine (half a coffee mixed with half a decaf coffee) and that seems to help a little , as well as a lot of water!
But nothing works 100% yet so far so Im interested in what other people have to say!

  • Same boat. 13 + 1 and have a mild headache all day everyday. I also have some wicked muscle tension constantly in my shoulders and neck.
  • Make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water, even if you feel like you already drink a lot of water, drink more. Also try very cold gatorade. Not to scare you but if your headaches are that bad, talk to your doctor and get it checked out.
  • Run a tea towel under cold water and wring it out. Use on forehead or back of neck. It's really good for headache and migraines!
  • I tend to get a lot of migraines so I understand your pain. I do have to check myself every time I start getting a headache to see if I've had enough water that day--usually if I've not had enough, simply drinking a glass and waiting 20 minutes will help.

  • I do! Tylenol does nothing! Water and carbs randomly help though.
  • Thanks for replying everyone! Sometimes I do notice it might be lack of water and drinking it does help with a headache. Ice packs have helped a lot, too. I did see the doctor and told her about it, she said just hormones and not to worry. I will remember to keep on my water better!

My mom recommends one drop of Frankincense essential oil rubbed onto the roof of your mouth. I'm not 100% sure if it is safe to do during pregnancy but it could be worth looking into.

ETA: I get debilitating migraines when not pregnant so when I am, my OB gives me a prescription of Fioricet which works really well for me.

  • No migraine but I have had annoying mild headaches and twinges of pain in my next. I also found a bump half way up the back of my neck that is scaring the shit out of me. I worry about everything
  • A little caffeine usually helps me!
  • My OB recommended a magnesium supplement taken daily for migraines. My headaches passed before I tried it, but it would be worth a shot!
