Thanksgiving stories

Well my husband's grandpa was talking about how much he was eating. Saying how he was eat twice as much as he does in the facility he is rehabbing in. He then proceeds to say, I don't want to get fat like her.
Entire family heard and it was soooo awkward. Needless to say he is losing his filter.
Thanks grandpa! Due Tuesday so sorry if I'm looking tubby.

Anyone else?

  • A have a cousin that has 3 kids, she currently doesn't have custody of her kids but still claims she's the best mom ever. As soon as she saw me she asked what kind of birth control I was going to use. Then she shamed me for wanting an epidural. I just bit my tongue and continued eating my 3rd plate of food. Haha. My husband is also a speed demon and wouldn't pay attention to the icy road signs EVERYWHERE. We were almost to his parents house when we saw a truck flipped around. The car in front of us slammed on it's breaks and wrecked into the truck then slid on over to the guard rail and wrecked again. Luckily my husband drove like a champ and we just had a scare. He was so proud of himself he had 3 glasses of wine at his moms. -__- So guess who had to drive in the snow and ice all the way home? Twatwaffle.

One of the young daughters of SO's cousin hasn't seen me at all during pregnancy . She was staring at me during dinner, then asked her mom if she'd seen the puberty video in 4th grade too. "Where do babies come from?" clicked for this kid
while I was stuffing my face.

  • We were at the in laws all day and my filterless 19 month old tried some of grandma's turkey and goes "nooo yuck gross!!" He ate bread and corn at least. Haha

  • Went to my in laws for dinner. My 3 year old ate nothing except half a roll (typical for him), was grouchy and wouldn't say goodbye to anyone (which I know offended my MIL). Then after whining the whole hour-long car ride home threw up all over the place while I was putting him to bed. To top in off hubby and I got into an argument about how to clean puke off a pillow. Welcome to 39 weeks of pregnancy! Exhausted!

My MIL was in charge of 3 things today, the turkey, scalloped potatoes, and getting a pie. We were supposed to eat at 5. Well the turkey wasn't done and she pushed everything back until 7. I already had my stuffing in the oven for a 5 o'clock meal. So I said screw it and ate at my house the things I made (stuffing, salad, green beans). So we head to her house at 5:45. Turkey didn't actually get done until 7:30 AND she bought apple (not pumpkin) pie. I'm usually in charge of all of thanksgiving and now I really know why. I'm so annoyed. No turkey, pumpkin pie or black friday shopping for me. :( Ugh!

So you never ate the turkey? I mean, it's pretty often that people mess up on how long to cook things for... And 7:30 isn't very late... Normally my husband's side of the family eats at 9:00pm...
  • The morning started with my husband and I getting into a big tiff over our Thanksgiving plans, which resulted in 30 minutes of me crying like the hormonal whale that I currently am. So that was a great start.

My Dad spent the day alternately referring to me as "the fat lady" and "chubs" hahahaha. Luckily we have that kind of relationship and I have a sense of humor. Also ALL of my relatives spent the day touching my bump. God help poor baby girl when she comes, they won't put a baby down in my family!
  • No I never ate the turkey. I go to bed at 8 these days and my digestion is so slow I have to make sure I eat around 6 at the latest or I can't sleep. I'll be getting some leftovers for a sandwich later today.
  • No stories. Stayed home. Parents brought us food and asked why i am still pg. Glad i stayed home.
  • I was told by my cousin's girlfriend (who is a nurse) that there's no way that I was having this baby anytime soon. That I was carrying way too high. My pregnant self wanted to strangle her....despite the fact that she could very well be correct. But really?? Who says that?

  • Thanksgiving went fine for us other than the 45 minured it took me to pick out a decent oit fit and then bein miserably uncomfortable for hours because I wanted to look cute. However today (day after) was a different story...
I decided I would be superwoman and get out ALL of our Christmas decorations by myself while hubby worked. Including setting up the tree. Let's just say that I was in way over my head. Everything that could have gone wrong did and after trucking up and down our stairs 50 times carrying boxes after about 2 hours I was exhausted. To top it off when the hubby came home he took one look at the mess I had created and decided to head to his man cave to watch football..so here I sat with my house 1/3 of the way decorated..a leaning tree with no lights and boxes stacked to be put away. Of course I ended up locking myself in the bedroom and crying for an hour because I am an emotional mess...
Great start to the holiday season!
    This baby can come ANYTIME!
  • My MIL insisted that we bring our dog with us. The only thing is that her dogs do not get along with other dogs, so they had to be in their kennels all day. Our dog is also barely a year old and full of energy, now granted he wasn't misbehaving or anything but he was just super stimulated by all the people and smells and the noises of dogs rustling in kennels in the next room. By the time we were heading home he and DH were both exhausted, to the point where pup was being ultra stubborn. We got home, hubby showered, pup went to sleep, and I told hubby that we are NEVER taking pup to event like that again.

I would've poked him back and said you first. Or just started crying, claiming that he hurt my c-section incision to make him feel guilty. Or maybe that's just me being cranky today cuz I just lost my favorite maternity tank at the laundromat and I'm ready to just have this baby already!
