Trouble TTC

New Clomid User, no positive OPK help! Need advice!

I had my AF on the 4th of November. I took my clomid on day 3 as told. Same time each night til day 7. My last dose was on November 10th. I have been testing every day with two OPK kits and never had a positive. One of my kits is a clearblue easy digital other is walgreens test strips. I seen my fertility doctor for everything I am suppose to thus far such as testing for blocked tubes (Im fully open), mature eggs testing, ultrasounds, uteral screening, and I had a mature egg (not two) on November 11th. They gave me an OPK test right there, and was not peaking yet. That would of been cycle day 8. They said maybe in one to two days I'll have  a positive surge. I never peaked but we BDed every other day since November 10 just in case and been still.  I am on cycle day 22 now.  I never had this happen with OPK kits before. Very confused why this is happening although last week, I did feel like I was ovulating because I had those ovulation pains and cramping. My stomach was also bloating. I usually ovulate on day 14 or 15.  Is clomid possibly giving false results? Can you ovulate late on it? If not, could my OPK kits be defective? I called my fertility doctor yesterday and she said unlikely I am ovulating now and that she wanted my progesterone levels checked. I have a 30 day cycle and I am 40 yrs old so I'm desperate for help. Thank you!

  • Hi there, what was the diagnosis that your fertility doctor gave you?  I have heard of Clomid delaying ovulation although that never happened to me personally.

  • Are you testing twice a day, morning and night?  The surge might only show for a couple of hours.  Last month I got a + at 10pm, but it showed negative in the morning that same day and the next day.

  • @superwomanof3 I've taken Clomid a few times, CD5-9.  I would typically get a +OPK about a week after my last dose so around CD 16.  Best of luck!
  • I've been on clomid at three different dosages so far. At 50, I never saw a positive. At 100, I have a peak, but didn't actually ovulate. At 150, I had an entire pack of high fertility but no peak. Honestly, I think I'm going to stop using the kit and just BD on the days the doctor recommended. I've read Clomid can throw off your results anyway, and those kits ain't cheap!

  • This is my first month on clomid too, and I'm on CD 14 waiting for a peak.
  • I'm closing this thread.  Doesn't look like OP is coming back to respond, and her history shows that she claimed to be pregnant a few months ago.  Something's fishy.
