Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Wednesday

Re: TWW Wednesday

  • Month/Cycle: 5/6

    CD/DPO: 21/7

    Timing: -5, -4, -2, O, +1

    Testing: none planned

R/R/CS: Temp went up today! But it's done that before 7DPO and I've still started spotting, so I'm not optimistic about a longer LP yet.

GTKY: Which food would you banish from your Thanksgiving (or other holiday if you don't celebrate it) table forever? Uh, fake mashed potatoes. My MIL makes fucking FAKE mashed potatoes for THANKSGIVING. Can you tell I'm a bit ragey over this? I don't get to do Thanksgiving with my family because they're so far away, and I get that everyone has different ways of doing things, but how can you make fake mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving??? She also cooks the turkey the day before and warms it in a crock pot. So I would ban both of those things.

    Timing: -1, -2. -3. -4

Testing: Waiting until tomorrow when AF is due.

R/R/CS: I am so nervous every time I use the restroom that signs of AF will be arriving. We will be starting fertility treatments the beginning of next year- (IUI) after my DH being diagnosed with severe MFI, so I have two more cycles that we could get pregnant "naturally." We could start next cycle but we decided we want to enjoy Christmas without the pressure. It has been a stressful, emotional last few weeks for us.

On a more positive note, I am sooo looking forward to Thanksgiving and will be baking some yummy desserts tonight to bring. Candy cane chocolate chip meringues and pumpkin pie shooters.

GTKY: Which food would you banish from your Thanksgiving (or other holiday if you don't celebrate it) table forever?
My mom is an amazing cook so I usually love everything. I would say gravy because I think it is disgusting.

    Happy Thanksgiving, ladies!

  • @hummingbird125 - LOL about salad. I was thinking about bringing one to the inlaws tomorrow along with my pie but you bring up a good point! No salad it is!

    Month/Cycle: 5/4

    CD/DPO: 28/ 10

    Timing: -4, -3, 0

Testing: I was going to test this morning but I chickened out... Tomorrow FMU for sure! At least that way, if BFN I can drown my sorrows in stuffing, pie, and most importantly wine.

R/R/CS: 3 days off for Thanksgiving makes me a VERY happy lady! I've never had 3 days off for Thanksgiving in my career -- usually I work at least Friday, if not Thursday AND Friday. Fist pump for days off!

GTKY: Which food would you banish from your Thanksgiving (or other holiday if you don't celebrate it) table forever? I'm with @pennstatecait on this one -- Candied Yams. YUCK. Too sweet to be on a dinner plate!

  • Month/Cycle: 4/3

    CD/DPO: 34/11

    Timing: -4, +1

    Testing: Nope

R/R/CS: HUGE temp drop today, almost positive I'm out. Just waiting on AF. I'm ok with it though, and today starts my 5-day weekend!

GTKY: Which food would you banish from your Thanksgiving (or other holiday if you don't celebrate it) table forever? Yams/sweet potatoes (or as I like to call them, spudly liars), especially with those little marshmallows.

  • @Slou24 - Oh no, I didn't mean to dissuade anyone ;-)

At my family's holidays, my grandpa's wife always makes a huge deal over her salad. She winds up comandeering part of the kitchen to "finish" it but grating cheese, chopping a few more veggies, mixing up her dressing, etc. - I'm sure on any other day I'd think "Oh! What a nice salad!" But there are just too many more delicious things on the table for me to want to eat any salad on Thanksgiving! Then she ends up standing over the bowl asking every single person at the table "A little salad? Did you get some salad yet?" and we all feel bad about turning her down after all the effort she put in.... too bad dogs don't want salad.

R/R/CS:  Well after an obvious line on a dollar tree test yesterday and last night, the dollar tree test was negative this morning.  There was a possible squinter on the FRER but it's probably just the phantom line the curved tests are known for.  I'll test tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I'm out.  :(  I'm guessing the lines yesterday were just my trigger.  Ugh, I just don't get it.  I had three good follicles this time.  I was way too hopeful for this cycle.

Month/cycle: was cycle 5 now moving to 6

    Cd: 1.5

Eta: ok I had a whole thing written but TB ate it again!!! Ugh

So last evening when AF showed I somehow lost it. I was expecting AF but was very surprised by becoming unglued. I felt very defeated last night but today I am feeling hopeful as we are moving on to a new chance to try. It just feels like we've been trying so much longer bc we originally started to try in March and then I went back on BC for a new job and then went off again in July. Now wishing I had stayed off in March!

Eta: and now it ate my GTKY. Maybe TB knows I'm no longer in TWW so I'm not allowed to post here? Jk

GTKY I would lose the rolls bc I love the other carbs so much better and I think the rolls are a silly filler.
  • ***Lurking***

GTKY: umm green bean casserole blah!

Edited for being half asleep when typing!

Hi ladies! It's my first time in TWW and I'm not even sure I belong here just yet but time will tell I guess...

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: ?/1 possibly

    Timing: -1, O

Testing: not sure yet, starting 10 dpo and maybe weekly until af shows?

R/R/CS: so I got Mirena out Monday, but a few days prior to that I had ewcm and other "signs" of O (I put signs in quotes because I wasn't temping) Anyway, the day I got it out I had what felt like o cramping. I picked up an OPK the next day (Tues)and got a faint positive Tuesday early evening, a definite positive late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning, and a definite negative later this morning. BD'ed Monday and Tuesday so we'll see. I'm side eyeing the idea that I "just so happened" to O the same day Mirena came out and could've actually conceived that quickly, but going by the signs and the kit it's possible I guess. I'm not getting my hopes up that's for sure.

GTKY: Which food would you banish from your Thanksgiving (or other holiday if you don't celebrate it) table forever? I agree with pp's on canned cranberry sauce. Real sauce is so easy to make and tastes so much better.

R/R/CS: Just waiting and trying very very hard not to read in to symptoms that are likely in my head. One breast is leaking colostrum, but this had happened before AF on a few occasions, so again, trying not to read in to it.

So I guess it's technically possible to ovulate so quickly after your Mirena is removed but pretty unlikely.

When you say your OPK was a "faint positive", what does this mean? The test line must be darker than the control line to be positive. If a faint test line shows up, that's not a faint positive, that's a negative. Also, OPKs just show that your body is gearing up to ovulate, but it doesn't confirm you ovulated. Are you temping to confirm? I know you wouldn't have a good baseline because your Mirena just came out, but at least you would have something to go off of.

You're right, I did put the "faint positive" as a negative in ff once I saw what a real positive looked like.
I'm pretty terrible at temping because I work nights and my sleep patterns are all over the place. Most of the time I just forget so I have no reference point just yet. I figured that since I did see some an actual positive on the OPK followed by a clear negative along with some secondary signs that I very well could've O'ed. Could be wishful thinking though so I'm just waiting to see what happens. I wouldn't be disappointed/surprised to see af any day now.

My ILs do this with all their shampoo and body wash. When we lived far away and used to sleep over their house during visits, showering there would drive me freakin' crazy! I'd go to put shampoo on my hands and a flood of water would come out at me instead. How is that going to clean my hair?!?!

Sometimes water just gets in from the shower - that has happened to me before and I definitely don't add water to my shampoo.
