daycare ruining baby's sleep routine

My baby is 12 weeks we've been in day care now for 1.5 weeks and my sons schedule is so out of whack. The week before daycare he was sleeping 7 hours at night. Now I'm lucky to get 4 at a time.

He's not sleeping as soundly or as long there during the day, so when he comes home he's exhausted and wants to sleep all evening causing him to be awake at 230am and be up for 2 hours knot to wake up at 6 am again.

I dont know how to correct it. He takes 2-2 hour naps plus cat naps at home during the day totaling about 5 hours. At day care he's getting a total of 3 hours, they say the stimulation keeps him up. (mind u or household of 5 humans and 3 pets is far from quiet) He comes home and zonks out around 6-7 and I can't keep him up. I try to wake him for a bit and feed him around 9 or 10, but he eats and goes right back to sleep

Any suggestions?

Re: daycare ruining baby's sleep routine

  • I'm sure the stimulation of daycare is way different from what he gets at home. Also, keep in mind he's been in daycare less than 2 weeks so he has a whole new routine and environment to adapt to. I bet you this will pass before you know it and daycares are actually super beneficial for getting kids on an even better more consistent schedule. Give it time and do what you need to do right now.
