Need some encouragement....

So, this is my first IVF cycle, and I'm 38 years old. I've always used birth control so never have TTC until Marraige. after testing, he has low sperm count. Original Day 3 test on me (back in August) came back completely normal, just like the tests done annually for the past 10 years.
AMH 2.7 (I think---need to re-check)
LH and FSH were both around 7
And Estradiol was 14
AFC 18

We had to wait a couple months (started in October BC pills) Bc my husband had to take injections to improve his sperm count.

Fast forward to starting my current cycle, I was shocked to see my aggressive AACP protocol:
BC 21days
lupron for 11 days
Ganirelex with 2 Delestrogen shots for 4 days
600 Bravelle daily (split AM/PM) continuing with Ganirilex the whole time with stimming

So my Baseline Ultrasound i had only 9 follicles. (Obviously due to oversuppression I'm assuming)

I've had 2 US check ups...Day 3 and Day 5, both measuring 11 follicles all under 10mm.

Is this cycle a waste? Anyway that tomorrow, day 7, I will see either growth in current follicle size or quantity?

Such a head scratcher Bc I was scared I would OVERSTIM with this aggressive protocol with numbers originally.

Also, we are doing ICSI along with PGD genetic testing.

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Usually an RE won't cancel a cycle unless there are less than 2-4 follicles. For my first couple of cycles I only had 1-2 follicles (my amh was 0.1). My last cycle, I had 12 follicles and I was thrilled. We transferred 2 but I got a BFN. Then we transferred 2 frosties and I got a BFP and am currently pregnant with one bean. Good luck.

FYI - this board isn't very active and you can get some great support while you are TTC on the infertility board and the trouble trying to conceive (TTTC) board.

My first and only cycle started end of August at 36 and a half years old. My tests came back normal. My DH had zero sperm count. He had tese the day before my retrieval and they found sperm. My trigger was on day 12. I had only 2 "ripe" follicles, but they were able to retrieve 4. I was terrified that after all we had been through, I would be the "problem". 3 eggs fertilized w/ icsi, 2 embryos transferred, BFP, I'm currently 13 weeks with 1. I wanted to give up especially when we knew it was only 2 follies, I was cursing the word "hope" the whole time, but with patience we got through it and it really can work. I don't think anyone was more reluctant about it than me, and I am proud to admit i was proven wrong!
