Swelling gone down? Problems?

So my feet were swollen pretty much since July - I lost all fluid in my legs and feet but my right foot now constantly hurts to touch. The skin is as sensitive as a severe sunburn on the top of my foot. Anyone else every experience this? Don't even know where to start on "fixing" this problem lol. I'm assuming the fluid did some nerve damage or caused some sensitivity or something?

  • Your skin is just stretched out from the swelling. It'll go back. Just give it time.

    It's sooooo painful
  • I think my feet grew. I'm six weeks out and some shoes are still too tight. I've had to go buy a few new pairs.

Mine never went back after my daughter. It's pretty common. I grew almost a full size. I'm expecting another half size with this one. So many of my good shoes no longer fit!
On the other side between her 2 pregnancies my SIL lost a size and a half in her feet!

How do you lose a size and a half??? That's amazing I wouldn't mind losing a size
  • My feet still hurt :(
  • I had swelling since May and lots of fluid in my legs also. It took 3 to 4 weeks after I delivered for it to be completely gone. So hang in there in the mean time. And yes my legs did hurt when I touched them.

Isn't that weird?! I had never heard of that before ether.
I was a 7.5 -8 before my daughter and I bought some ballet flats last month in a 9. I'm worried I'll be starting over once again with all my shoes! It's so expensive!
  • 2 weeks out tomorrow and my wedding set still doesn't fit :(

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Yea my swelling went down in a week. I just can't get over the pain of the skin
  • 2 weeks out tomorrow and my wedding set still doesn't fit :(

Mine either! I'm worried I'm going to have to get it resized. I feel like I don't look swollen anymore but my fingers swelled so badly I couldn't even wear a size 9 ring at the very end (my wedding set is 7.25)
  • Three weeks and change out, and I still have some swelling, but it's pretty much limited to my feet at this point. I got a lot of IV fluids for delivery (on top of the water I was already retaining from pregnancy) and puffed up big time.

Mine either! It will not go past my knuckle, I think I may have to get it resized. :( It makes me mad because I really want to wear them again!
  • I'm 10 weeks pp now and still have pain on the base of my feet. It's worse when I walk bare foot. People have suggested possible nerve damage from swelling and carrying extra weight. One website I read said it could take 12 months to repair itself. My doctor said come back in 6 months if it's no better. :( It's horrible.

My feet hurt for a couple weeks after the swelling went down. Try massaging them. It will go away, it takes time. Hope you get some relief soon. I really sympathize with you. The foot and ankle pain was the worst!
