Mass Mutual Redirect?

Hey,

I'm just curious if anyone else has been experiencing this during their time on TB lately....

Over the past couple of days, while cruising the message boards on my laptop, I noticed around every 10 minutes or so after clinking on a link to go to a thread/board, my browser would go to a different webpage called "Mass Mutual: LGBT Families". It looks like an insurance page, but I have no idea why this keeps happening all of a sudden. I was thinking maybe some weird sort of trojan or virus. But then a day later it happened while I was browsing TB on my phone app too! Has anyone else had this happen to them, or have any idea as to what may be causing it?

    Same thing happening to me as well. Not every time I log on to TB, but when I click on boards typically I will get redirected to the same page as you.

    Hi Sirius37,

    I am a tech analyst for TB and I would like to help solve this issue.

    I can conform that this is not a trojan or a virus of any kind, but I am attempting to solve this issue.  Could you please provide me with the pages in particular you were browsing, and on what browsers (on desktop) you were using?  Any additional info would help as well.

    @Dwolkofsky Sorry about taking forever to respond. I noticed it happening most often when I would click on an individual board (any of them, there was no pattern) from the page listing all the message boards. I was using Firefox on my laptop, and the app while on mobile. It happened pretty infrequently and hasn't occurred in the past few days in fact. There didn't seem to be any "hot spot" where it would happen every time, if that helps.

    I noticed this too, but I can't recall the pages I was on or the ad that popped up. I believe it was when I clicked on specific community boards. The impression I got was that it seemed like the entire TB was covered in an invisible ad that covered the whole web page so when I clicked on a link, I was actually clicking on an invisible pop-up ad.

    It hasn't done it for awhile now, so it seems like the problem is resolved.
