@Elizabella85 sorry to hear that you're having a rough time with GD and itching. Did the pharmacy staff have to order your itch cream? Sometimes creams, especially rarely used ones have to be ordered and it takes a day for them to arrive. That sucks that you had to wait for it, hope you find some relief soon.
caitlyn5454 My DH's grandmother is 95 and she has referred to her only grandson as her favorite nephew several times. We have to tell her she is getting a new great grand baby every time we see her. We finally gave her a 3D ultrasound pic (that she was fascinated by) for her to hang on her bulletin board. We're hoping this helps her remember, maybe you can do something like this for her to help her remember.
I have another confession.. I had to get the group b strep this week and my DH thought it was hilarious that I had to get my butt swabbed. On our way into our appointment he kept saying "you have to get your booty swabbed" and then would laugh.yesh, real mature. I tried to convince him that he had to get it done too, but he didn't believe me and yes I know he doesn't need it done. While I was getting weighed at our appointment I asked the nurse if she could make it seem like we both had to have it done (she had sent my DH down to the room while I got weighed and peed). The nurse did the routine questions and blood pressure check and then got two sheets out and explained to us that we needed to undress waist down for the test. I laughed and my DH had a wtf look on his face.. It was great!
Also more of a vent, and since I definitely don't want to call my mom, who is usually my go to for venting, I'm venting here. Sorry:
DH was just in a car accident. He was hit from behind and as a result hit the car in front of him. Now that I know he's fine ("My back is seizing up a bit, and I hit my head on the seat really hard, but I've been hit harder playing hockey, so I'm going to go about my day.") all I can think about is the financial implications of all this. From the sound of it, the car is still drivable, I think, so I suppose it could've been a lot worse. Growing up in Michigan, we got used to having "no-fault" insurance, but I'm not sure how it works in Indiana. DH says we might have to sue the other driver.
With this, plus the broken garage door, plus my car on the outs, plus my body not being as cooperative as it was during my first pregnancy, plus everything else going on, we might just have the worst luck ever.
We went for cracker barrel for breakfast (a breakfast with hubbies coworkers). And then for lunch we had chicken from a local fried chicken place! It was amazing (my breakfast kind of sucked)

Thanks! It is rough, but it will be over soon and it's all worth it because I get a pretty baby in the end, RIGHT?!?
To the extent of my knowledge they didn't have to order it, although it's possible. They just usually take a day or two to fill a new prescription because they are beyond slow at this particular CVS branch, probably because they're the only branch in my town although there's half a dozen in the next town over. I only use them because they are my insurances preferred pharmacy. Usually it's no big deal because I'm aware they are slow and know to refill prescriptions ahead of time. It just sucks because my need for relief seems "stat" to me, but is a total non-emergency. I'm just beyond uncomfortable. At least I know now, if my kid ever needs a quick prescription for an illness, screw my insurance, we'll use a different pharmacy.
@caitlyn5454 I understand how concerning it is to deal with someone who has dementia. My grandmother had Alzheimer's and passed when I was young. She never remembered that I was her grandchild or that her current husband wasn't just her care taker. She also thought her son was her first husband, the father of her three children, even though he had passed away years before. It never bothered me in the least that she never remembered me because she was so sweet. I remembered her and understood and that's what mattered. Kids are resilient. To this day dementia and Alzheimer's patients are my favorite to work with. My advice would be to not expect anything from her, try to love and appreciate the person she is now and know she is even more frustrated than you understand that she is having these difficulties. One day at a time is almost always the best way to go.

Yes, keep your eye on the prize!
That stinks that they are so behind. I work at a retail pharmacy chain and corporate loves to cut hours based on scrip counts even though it hurts business..blarg.

I'm in disbelief that anything from cracker barrel could suck even a little bit. Also, even though DH is bringing home my favorite pizza for dinner, now I want cracker barrel. Maybe I'll go by myself tomorrow when he is at the football game. Even though it's a nearly 30 minute drive

@NellieHarringtonCarter - Call the Indiana Insurance Department and ask them to walk you through what happens in a case like that. They will be able to tell you the laws in Indiana from an unbiased perspective and give you a better idea of what to expect. I have worked in the field for awhile now, and most likely the fault will fall with whoever hit him from behind, but you are right to be concerned if there are more than 2 parties involved in the accident. I don't know Indiana laws, but the insurance department is always there to help if you just have questions or if you feel like you need to file a complaint against an insurance company. You can PM me if you want, too, even though I don't know how much help I'll be without knowing Indiana laws.
I must confess that I set up another "just in case" account for when I get banned. I thought I was using my husband's email address. Definitely used some random person's email. Oops. Hope you like my weekly updates.
When I get on the bump I first look for closed threads and try to figure out what was removed. I also enjoy guessing which thread is going to be a circus and eventually closed.
I was considering opening a thread and asking for a sticky for labor watch like the one in N15 but seeing how TB has been lately I just don't have the heart...I still think it's a great idea but the drivebys will probably continue regardless
I had heartburn too with "traditional" pumpkin pie. Like the worst I've ever experienced. I've adjusted a recipe for my son (who is diabetic) and I haven't had heartburn at all. It is not as sweet, has has no animal fat (which is what I think causes the heartburn). I think it's a pretty respectful version, and could be something that the ladies experiencing GD might be able to have too!

Butternut squash gives me heartburn too. Last time I had some I had to sleep sitting up, and that was after Pepcid, Tums, water, and ice cubes.
@Mother0fDragons thank you for that pancake pic. I am now motivated to get my lazy butt out of bed and go make myself some pancakes! I believe I might make mine with chocolate chips...
DH put an app on my phone that tracks his phone so I know where he is (he travels for work so it shows me where he is on the road). I use it a lot now to know how much time I have before he gets home so I know when I have to get off the couch and start looking like I've been doing stuff around the house.

I had pecan pancakes and I think I just wasn't feeling them! I'm of course willing to give them another try
Another confession for today. My hubby just ran a half marathon and finished 22 min less then his goal, so we are headed out to red Robin for burgers and bottomless fries.... I watched Christmas movies and started to decorate. One of us earned a burger and one didn't, but boy are we both going to enjoy it!!!
