TTC After a Loss

Super Faint Second Line About 12 Hours Later...Anyone Else?

So I took a pregnancy test yesterday (last night :/) and when I look at it I though BFN all the way. The one line was so dark so clearly I'm not pregnant...well I looked at the test again today and there was the faintest of second lines, like I really have to look hard to see it. Not sure what to make of this. I bought the three pack of tests so I plan on testing again in the morning (AF is due tomorrow). Anyone have this happen and turn out to be pregnant?

Re: Super Faint Second Line About 12 Hours Later...Anyone Else?

  • When you look at a test past the time when it is valid (whatever the instructions say), it may show a second line that is considered an evaporation line, which is invalid. Try a new test with FMU tomorrow and look at it within the time limit.

  • Thanks ladies! I was a little skeptical. I tested first thing this morning and the second line came up but again, barely visible after 10 minutes. I guess that means a BFP though.
  • Usually the test time limit is 10 minutes. Unless you see the line before then, it could be evap. I would go to your doctor and get your levels measured, or wait a few days and take another test to see if he line gets darker and appears before the 10 minute mark.

  • I would test with FMU in the morning. If AF is due tomorrow, I would think you would get a clear positive when you test if you had enough pregnancy hormone in your urine. Any chance you ovulated later?

Otherwise, as the wise ladies before me said, never trust a test after it's time limit. Toss it in the trash, walk away, don't look back :)

    Good luck to you !
  • Thanks for the advice everyone! AF showed up this morning, so I guess I have my answer :/
