Starbucks eggnog lattes!

Has anyone found out for certain whether or not we can have the eggnog latte? I keep asking the baristas and they are not helpful...I emailed the company and they redirected me to somewhere else on the website. Annoying. I want one so bad!

Re: Starbucks eggnog lattes!

  • They most likely use pasteurized eggs, if they check the cartons they use it should say right there! Aaaand now I'm craving an eggnog latte :)

  • I didn't even think of that, but I highly doubt they're using anything that's uncooked or unpasteurized. I've been adding some to hot chocolate since I don't drink coffee. It's delicious.

I am sure their egg nog is pasteurized. Do they even sell unpasteurized in the store?! I think nowadays the only way you're getting 'real' egg nog is if you make it yourself.
    Drink away!
Oh and if you get a hot one that should make it even less worrisome.

    Edited b/c I can't spell
  • I agree with PP. I really doubt they sell any thing unpasteurized. I would think that could be a liability for them if someone where to get sick.
  • I'd assume they are using a pasteurized mix...and that the heat of making it a latte is also helping the risk. If you are worried ask them to make it extra hot or however people order their lattes hotter and just wait for it to cool enough to avoid burning your tongue.
  • And now I'm thinking about going to Starbucks and getting an eggnog hot chocolate and cranberry bliss bar. Nom nom.
  • You're good. I've had one everyday for a week. They are literally my favourite part of winter.
  • Ex Starbucks barista here... They actually use egg nog that is ordered with their milk so the brand will vary depending on the location and who they purchase from. But they dilute it with milk and steam it. It only gets up to 170 ish degrees (can't remember exact temp since its been a while). There's always risk when dairy is involved even just with a regular latte.
  • OMG what is this eggnog hot chocolate you speak of? As soon as I leave my 35 week checkup I'm heading straight for Starbucks lol ... Oh and now I'll have to try a cranberry bliss bar too. For some reason I've never tried it!
  • @browneyes_326 - I'm not a coffee drinker, so I put the eggnog in a hot chocolate instead of a latte. It's very good. The cranberry bliss bar is probably my favorite Starbucks pastry/treat!
  • @Court11152325 I figured maybe you didn't drink coffee. I do but not always so I think I'll try it!
  • It should be fine..... I worked at Starbucks last summer. I'm pretty sure I'm remembering correctly that they use Borden brand, so check that at the grocery store, if you're nervous about ingredients. There's a risk with anything you put in your body, so...... I say drink up, mama! I miss being able to drink coffee. I found that I'm allergic.
  • Aaack! Just got to Starbucks & they're all out of eggnog! So much for that craving :)
  • That is unfortunate because I was going to say that I just finished my eggnog hot chocolate and cranberry bliss bar. Is it FFFC yet?
  • I DID get the bliss bar. Yummy :) ... Baby approves, he's kicking like crazy right now.
  • Thanks for putting my mind at ease, ladies! I'll just have them check to make sure it's pasteurized and get extra hot for good measure! ❤️
  • What!!!! They aren't serving the eggnog latte down here in alabama!!!! Its my favorite is it actually on the menu or do you just ask for it?
  • Hmmm eggnog. But the real deal with the booze lol! But Starbucks will do! ;)

Try asking for it. Many of them get the supplies in before they switch over the menu. If they have it, they will usually make it
  • @ATolentino89 165 degrees is the temp meat is supposed to reach to be completely cooked, so if 170 is the temp reached by a latte it is theoretically "completely cooked."

So I asked for it and he said 'I'm sorry we're out of eggnog.' Did not see it on the menu. Now I'm crossing my fingers that they are really 'out' ... Meaning they had it and ran out versus aren't getting it! That would be weird ... Trying to think why eggnog may not be a popular drink down here!!!
