I came across a post on another board talking about "baby got colic". Its a white noice recording that they all swore by. i havent had much luck with my LO and white noise. But i figured what harm can it do?looked it up on youtube and shes been asleep for 15 mins. Normaly she fight sleeping unless shes dead asleep in my arms. This seems to have calmed her enough so she can fall asleep on her own. Maybe a fluke...but for tonight it helped!!
My DD had a photo shoot for a modeling gig on Friday and the photographer used an app on her phone with brown noise. She said brown noise is great and never fails to keep babies calm and sleeping during shoots. It worked for my LO. She slept for the whole 3 hours even through repositioning, prop changes, and outfit changes. I am just mad that I can't remember what the app was called! Lol
With my first LO I held out for so long on trying white noise, I don't know why. I tried all the soothing ocean sounds, etc...none of those worked. White noise helped sooo much!

Do you just leave your cell phone in the room until they fall asleep?? I'm unsure how to use the app just bc I don't want to tie up my phone- thinking about ordering a white noise machine. Has anyone used this??
We have a "sleep sheep" it's s plush sheep that plays white noise. We love the 'heartbeat' setting at night
What is the heartbeat setting? Is it effective without being in there with them (since that's not recommended )?Where did you buy it?
I had not considered white noise but after seeing this thread I found an app. My baby was fussing and we usually attribute it to gas. But i gave her a pacifier and played the app and she was out in a minute! Obviously not gas. But I don't want my phone tied up....
So I researched this brown noise phenomenon a bit and downloaded an app with white, pink and brown noise. I played the gentlest of the three, brown, last night with my son. He usually wakes at 2 and 4-5 am to feed. He then remains awake and slightly fussy at the 4-5 am feeding which makes for a long day. Last night however, following the 4-5 am feeding he returned to sleep with the aide of the brown noise... Here's to an improved night's sleep. Give it a shot ladies!!!

@KLHauck12 it has a volume control and it Velcro's to the crib rails (outside not inside) so I can adjust how loud the heartbeat sound is. We also took an epic nap today to ocean waves.. You can google it, toys r us sells them
We have the sleep sheep, which I thought worked ok for my daughter, until we got the munchkin projector/noise machine. We actually got it for the projector, but the noise options are great and get much louder than the sleep sheep, which LO loves. Calms her almost instantly. Sadly, the projector part stopped working after 3 whole days. 3 days! Guess you can't win them all.
I down loaded baby quieter and i play the relaxer noise during night feeding and it seems to keep LO calmer and he falls asleep quicker when done. I then put him in his pack and play in our room where we have a fan going. It's not perfect but seems to be helping.
Our photographer used the Baby Shusher. You can buy it on amazon. It was amazing. He slept for 3 hours through some crazy maneuvers and swaddles. Plus, my husband almost fell asleep listening to it. No matter what, we run air purifiers every night in our rooms to help with seasonal allergies, so there is always noise. I haven't but the bullett yet on the Shusher, but I'm considering it.

I have this one! We only use the white noise setting because that is the one my son seems to like the most and it has been a lifesaver (:
@monkeybaby10 omg i just downloaded it, and tonight LO is sleeping soundly through the night. He usually sleeps restlessly, but not tonight after i used the brown noise. Thanks ladies!!! Cheers to better sleep yeay
I downloaded two different apps and haven't noticed much of a help until today. LO hates his diaper changed and has been super cranky all day. During his diaper change i put on the vacuum noise and he cried like normal through the change but as soon as I was done he calmed down much more than he's been most of the day. Hopefully it'll help him nap today!
