TTC After a Loss

Tell me something good!

Hi ladies! We did this last Friday, and it was super fun to read everyone's happy things. So, I want to do it again. Share something good that has happened to you this week or something good that has happened since your loss. It doesn't have to be pregnancy or TTC related. Just send some positive vibes not only to help yourself focus on the positive but also to help others find something happy to think about. This emotion roller coaster is a ride none of us like being on. It's so easy to focus on our sadness, frustrations, and what we don't have (a baby or a baby bump). So, let's take a moment to think about all the wonderful things we DO have in our lives. Share away! :)

  • These are awesome!
  • My brother is in town this weekend with his family. They only live 3.5 hours away, but we don't see them much. I'm excited! He has always been my best friend. :)
  • I work for a GED program for at-risk city youth and one of my students told me yesterday that the only reason she keeps coming to class is because of the help and positive motivation that she gets from me! She said she would have just given up month ago if I wasn't there continuing to be her "cheerleader." Things like that are the reason I got into this type of teaching!

DH and I are closer than ever. And we are taking our first real vacation (other than our honeymoon) in a week!

I love this. Terrible experience can bring couples closer than ever. I am so happy with my DH too.

  • I agree, our loss at 10 weeks brought us closer, and I feel like I love my husband evon more lately. Despite our loss, all I can think of is how much we have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I'm nervous to stop bleeding (after d&c), and it really being over, but feeling better each day and looking for positives in our life to keep me sane! :)
  • I got married on 11/11 to the man of my dreams! :) So that's exciting!

Also, extra nerdy happy moment - I got to do some real, in-the-weeds statistical analysis at work yesterday and today, which is not my favorite part of my job but it's something I haven't had the chance to do in a while and it was refreshing to just sit down, plug in some music, and manipulate data for a few hours rather than constantly running from meeting to meeting all day. :)

  • @1faceinacrowd, Congratulations on the marriage!

I have been getting to do some data analysis at work, too! It's fun to me. Some people love novels, I love numbers! Plus, the data I'm analyzing is part of a project I'm doing for grad school, but after I write my paper, we're going to keep going with the project and try to really use it to help a school. Helping teachers (and their students) makes me even happier than analyzing data. When I get to do both together...BOOM! All kinds of nerdy happiness!:wink:

Man, that sounds awesome!! I love data analysis and statistics but I do feel like I'm lacking real fulfillment from my job (I work at an insurance company). I really wish I worked for a place that makes a difference...a non-profit or something. I used to work for a hospital and I felt a lot better about that work, even though it was in the billing department. *Sigh* That's great that you get to follow your passion AND help people!!
