Maternity Pants??

Re: Maternity Pants??

  • I have to wear dress pants to work too. I am doing the rubber band trick for now... I don't know what I will do later on because I am short too. Maybe I will stick to skirts and tights come winter?

  • For now, I just bought a size larger in the work pants I already had. At home, I only wear elastic things: yoga pants, pjs, tights/leggings.

Also for the pp that mentioned Old Navy, they do sell maternity clothes instore usually. They also run decent deals so it's a great place to stock up on basic maternity tshirts.
  • @noelietrex - I was wondering if you have received the Bella Bands you ordered online yet. Are you happy with the quality? This online deal of "just pay for shipping" seems a little too good to be true. Just checking before I order!

I haven't received them yet. I paid for cheapest (slowest) shipping so they'll be here at the end of November. I'll check back in with pics and let you know though
  • Only 6 weeks 5 days but I caved and bought the Motherhood Maternity fit and flare in black for work. They are so comfortable. I'm going to live in these. My friend who is 6 months along was with me and bought some too and said she should have gotten them months ago.

@Maries1987 - what unicorns are you searching for, I can keep my eyes out for them! I have a serious addiction. I am wearing my camo ones tomorrow!

Everyone love the camos!! I just bought 5 more pairs (oops!) and don't have any specific unicorns I'm looking for. Just looking to figure out what my next unicorn is. Even started a unicorn hunter page LOL! How about you??
  • Leggings & yoga pants! Majority of my jeans are actually "jeggings" and have a little bit of stretch to them so they'll still fit for a little while I hope. I work in a call center so it's very casual. People actually wear sweats and no one bats an eye. ;)

I am excited to see what Xmas ones come out! I need to stop buying so many and just sick with the ones I have but it is hard!
  • I bought the Bella band about a week ago and they have made my life so much better! I bought one in black and another in white. They do ride up a bit, but it isn't terrible to put them back in place when it does. I recommend it to anyone who needs a little extra room but can't wear maternity pants yet.
  • I'm 8 and a half weeks and I've been living in sweats and leggings for the past 3 weeks and have lost weight due to MS. I tried to put on my jeans tonight and nope wasn't going to happen had to settle for a hair tie to close them enough for church. Then straight to target I went for a Bella band!

  • I bought leggings from Motherhood Maternity last pregnancy and wish I would have done it so much sooner! I wore them all the time non-pregnant and now I have an excuse! I also like Burlington Coat Factory. Their jeans were my favorite.
  • I put away half of my maternity clothes from my last pregnancy. I still wear them, in fact I'm wearing a maternity shirt right now. I don't care because I'm comfy.
  • Y'all. I finally went to Motherhood today and went crazy. I bought their "starter bump" tops and leggings. Also bought a pair of maternity undies. Washing them now so we shall see. They gave me lots of freebies and I got 3 magazine subscriptions for 2 years for $3!!

My jeans are getting tight. My bra is definitely going to need an upgrade. I'm going into my 8th week as of yesterday so I'm sure I'm going to need to do the hair tie trick or get a belly band! Aren't you guys excited for Christmas lists?! They will help with the expensive maternity clothes.
  • I'm 7 weeks and doing the hair tie holding the button and hole together trick right now. My bras are too small and hurt already. My pants are too tight and I hate them. Yesterday I even wore a dress with leggings and the leggings cut across my lower abdomen and hurt all day. I only want to wear my husbands t-shirts and jogging pants right now. I'm headed to target this weekend for soft bras and maternity leggings to live in for the next month or so. I also ordered 2 of those bella bands, there are lots of promos for them where you can get 2 bands free and just pay for shipping (which was $16, not exactly free). My share code is "A4D00D9D5" here: https://www.bellybuttonband.com if anybody is looking for the "free" deal.

I have two nursing bras that look somewhat like sports bras. I have lived in them since before DD was born and they are amazing! Normal bras just suck now. Both of those are from target.

  • ****LOSS MENTIONED****

I gained about 5 lbs after my loss in September....I gave up all artificial sugar so the real sugar is the culprit.  Anyways, with that added weight my pants were already snug and although I am only 5 weeks, I recall with my loss that around 7 there was definitely some massive bloat, especially in the evenings.

I am fully embracing this pregnancy, but not wanting the entire world to know about it.  I am a teacher so we have to dress nice.  My problem with breaking out my maternity pants is that they usually extenuate the bump......anyone else notice the same thing?
  • I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, (or if you have one near you) but New York & Company used to make "dress pants"(<--certainly passable as business casual) with an elastic waist. They were basically fancy wide leg/bootcut leggings. (Not specifically maternity) Might be worth a quick search?
  • Go to thyme maternity I got mine for 20$
