Re: UO Thursday

  • I feel that camo is only appropriate for the military or hunting.

  • I agree with you, @banfrog. Although, I do have a pink came knife but it was a gift.

I have the UO that pacifiers shouldn't be used unless a baby cannot be consoled any other way. My MIL thinks they're like a cute accessory and my mom pops one in her mouth at the slightest fuss. Both of them always try to "get her to take" a pacifier but my LO doesn't like them and always spits them out. Even if she's perfectly content, MIL will try to give her one. Drives me nuts. They can cause dental issues and getting a child weaned from them can be a nightmare, 2 things I have no intention of dealing with especially since it's totally avoidable. If my DD actually liked them and couldn't be consoled by anything else, obviously I wouldn't be adverse to giving her one but that's not the case in our house so I'd prefer that the grandmothers stop trying to create a habit that doesn't need to exist. Ugh.

ETA: Sorry, didn't mean for that to turn into a mini rant!

They can definitely be a problem, but I would rather a paci than his thumb or fingers. I can throw the paci out, can't really take away the fingers.
