Asymmetrical hips?

Went for LO four month checkup. Doc had us schedule an ultrasound on LOs hips because one lays a little flatter than the other when he makes like a butterfly stretch so he is worried it might not be in the socket properly.

Anyone run into something like this? Doctor didn't seem too concerned but now DH and I are super paranoid. I started to google it and just found sad pictures of babies in casts. TIA!

In another post @rasmith23 said her LO had hip dysplasia at 2 weeks and had fully recovered at 13 weeks. I'm not sure if it's the same but maybe you could private message her? Sorry I don't have advice. Hope all is well with LO.

Did you have a c-section? My baby's hips was uneven and we took her to a chiropractor for about 2/3 sessions and it's fixed now. Apparently this is common when baby is born via c-section

Huh I did! I'll look into tha! Ultrasound came back "normal" but I still would like to get things straightened out!

Hi there! My LO had hip dysplasia (only one hip was out of socket). I had him naturally. We went to orthopedist week 2 and he wore a Pavlik harness full time for 10 weeks, and I mean full time, except for bath and changing. It was heartbreaking at first, but he got used to it fast and so did I. His scans were completely normal after week 13. We had several ultrasounds and xrays and he still will follow up with xrays for a while. The doc said the sooner it's caught and taken care of, the better the chance of full recovery. Otherwise surgery is often needed. Good luck and please message me if you have any questions!
